It started right up with only a battery, soloniod, and the turn of a key. I backed around a bit but after that no movement. I think the clutch may be toast but we'll figure out another night. not bad for anotehr $100 car!!! And it's all mine!!! IF all goes well it may not be a parts car, but a DD. I didn't find any rust on the strut towers as preivious owner said, started right up as preivious owned said it wouldn't, and it's fuc*in virgin blue cloth int. MUCH more to follow soon but it's 2:30 AM....

I'l getting title monday, I just got the car because the City was on the guy to move it. As of now it needs little things and I know about nothing about TC's so it will be a fun experience. I'll get better pictures today I hope. If all it needs is a clutch and an Alt then it's not a parts car..... It's my DD!!!

Blue..... not sure if I wana sell anything off it as of now. If it's a complete car I'll keep it. If there is in fact rust in the strut towers or something else MAJOR then It will be parted humanily. Otherwise again it's my DD. If anyone smarter then me wants to take a look at it, contact me and I'll hook something up.
eek get all those pine needles and out of the cowl and stuff before its all rust.
I just " got it" last night about 10 PM so I didn't do too much. Moved it, threw a battery in it, clean some pine needels off and started it. Thats as far as I've been so far. MUCH more to come
Youre not going to have fun. If you think the Fila is a handful, have fun with a TC.
I'm sure I will. But for $100 man, even if I do gut it.... the rear and suspention I want for mine is worth that. IF I can save it I will sure as hell try. If not I know a good homes for most of the stuff on the car

im for parting it out, and using the money to put into the fila. you could make some good $$$ from it. having 2 project cars would be too much.
or sell the fila.....

We'll know soon how bad. There IS rust in the strut tower, about 1" tall, 3" wide on teh driver side. Passanger doesn't look that bad. Also a bit on the frame. I hate to see the car go to shiznit over some rust. Is it possable to save it/patch weld to save the car? I know we're going blind here with no pics but I'll try to get some up later
Grind it down and find out exactly how much rust there is.Rust finds a way to hide sometimes,then,you may be able to have a nice piece of steel welded in.
naaaah, you fix the tc while driving the fila, when the tc is done, ride it around and work on the fila:hick:
Mikey, you've been busting your nuts trying to get the fila done and have made excellent progress. I don't in any way mean to burst your bubble on the new toy but you should consider parting and using the cash to finish up the fila.
I've had my '86 for almost a year and I now came to that conclusion for myself.

If there's rust on the towers then just part it out. Chances are it is worse than it appears to be. That thing needs a lot of work and you've got quite a bit on your plate already. Take what you need for the Fila (8.8, Front Brakes... ) and sell the rest.
they have a good point thats how my black one was, we jsut found more and more and more, thats why now its a parts shed for all the other turbo coupe parts.
I keep hearing worse and worse things about rust. As of now I still have hope, but start calling parts if you want it. Stuff I want for sure is the rear, front brake setup including spindles. Rest is up. Some people have dibs on stuff but for sure no one has spoken up but Brian. You want stuff hit me up here, in the new thread I'm about to make, or through PM. I'm easy enough to find
honestly, if you're not going to convert to 4-wheel disc, id sell the rear end complete. your 7.5" will handle whatever YOU throw at it. my friend is running 11.02's on his with a factory t-lok, 3.73's, and stock axles! use the money to put into that fila. think of buying this car as a money making oppurtunity. if i came across the same deal, id part it out. $100 is WAY cheap, when you can make close $2,000 off of it parting it.
I'll more then likely part it. I do have another secerte toy that WILL come home if I part it. THe rest of the money will go directly into the Fila. I have an 8.8 to go into it, I have big plans for a motor that will soon go in. Again though, I wana know how bad the rust is. If I can patch weld to save a CLEAN car I will. If not it's parts. Plain and simple
