Title: Digital dash and H.O swap

dont know if there related  my speedo doesnt work 
(lights up and displays 0 mph) any ideas?  car is an 87 cougar 5.0 full digi dash

bad vss or chewed up driven gear would be my guess.

my guese is if it stoped working all of a suden, it most likely the clip that plugs into the sender on the tranny came undone youmay of had something fly up and knockit off.

i just bought the car i have no idea if it worked before

Eh mine works fine:D . Check the VS sensor on the trans. Either it or the gear is messed up. Also if you drive it for a bit the *average speed* part of the trip computer should say something other than 0 mph. That should let you know if you're getting a signal or not.

well the average speed dont work so i guess its a wiring issue or the Vss

i'd still check the clip underneath the car. but it might be the circut tape on the back of the cluster they like to get brittle. kind of like what happened here:

FIXED! someone cut the VSS wires at the trans
