Title: 2 Questions
Post by: P71 on June 14, 2007, 11:19:39 PM
1. Are TC fuel lines (87-88) the same as 5.0 ones? daboss needs a set and the set on my 18-wheeler hit TC that I've been messing with all day are really nice. If they'll work, I'll pull them.

2. On the infamous rear window trim (87-88 TBird). I pulled the multi-piece trim off of the TC and all of the clips. There's about a dozen "nubs" welded to the channel. Are those in the 1-piece cars? If so, any TBird can convert to the multi-piece.

if it were me i would just replace the damaged section with fuel injection quality rubber line unless it is a huge area (under 1-2")

its possible it may be modded to work but not with ease, the T/C lines cross the car in the lower cowl area to the driver side. Were the 5.0 lines come on up the car and into the engine bay under the framerail on the pass side.

Right-o then. I'll grab em for my car as spares then. For a 210,000 mile car the underside is in really nice shape. Stupid 18-wheeler had to side-swipe it :( I've held on to this car for almost 3 years because I didn't want to strip it. *sigh*

Any answers on the rear window trim? I think it was 88sportcoupe that wanted a multi-setup. Anybody? Do I have to do it? :D :hick:

#2  I have those Rivet liiking things under my trim. That is what the clips go on. You know those clips that hold the trim on.

Well i figured i would take out my back window and take a look.
I don't have any nubs sticking out on my frame.
It looks like there is almost a half inch of sealant or a rubber gasket and the molding is bonded to it.
Now when i reseal it should i se all the old stuff off or leave it and bond to it.

Here are a couple pics of what it looks like:
The top one is looking at the profile off the sealant/rubber and the bottom one is a pic of the broken molding. It was like the molding held the window in, it wasnt really bonded to anything except for a ~3" spot on the bottom center.

You need to clean all of that gunk out. Underneath on the body should be some nubs. I have some good pics of the ones on the 87 TC. If they are there, the multi-piece will work.

I didnt see anything unless its under all the sealant.

Edit: Duh i just re-read and realized you said underneath. I will have to try to clean it and see if they are there.
