Title: Rear Window Trim
Post by: 88sportcoupe on June 10, 2007, 09:01:12 PM
Well my trim on my rear "windshield" is screwed up, and most of it is missing, I was reading on Nato messageboard and saw a couple threads about how some 88 cars got a "one-piece" trim that is attached to the window. Well i think that is what i have here and my rear window right now is held down from falling out by silicone in the top corners.

I am hoping someone could help me out with a way to replace the trim without having to change the window.

That's the multi-piece metal trim. Call up a local glass installer (CarLite, SafeLite, whatever) and they should have the 1-piece rear molding. It's jut universal stuff that's cut-to-fit.

Are you sure? I know you have seen more than i have but it is broken in the pics and at the top there was a plastic piece that was all warped. I know it is different than what was on the TC at the JY cause i tried to pry it off the TC and it kept bending where the clips were, when i pulled it off mine it just keeps breaking every 6-8 inches. It looks like it goes under the window, and i havent seen ANY clips on the rear window except on the bottom by the trunk.
How does the universal stuff look after installed? How is it installed?

Your pics make it kind of hard to tell what yours has exactly. Honestly now that I've looked at it, yours looks like the universal stuff.
