Just a quick question does the door panel for an 84 mercury cougar interchange with an 86 Cougar?
Generally, yes. Different panels attached in different ways on every door from 1983-88. Sometimes new holes need to be drilled into the door, sometimes clips need to be moved, etc. but you can make any door panel work on any door with enough diligence.
