I need a black trunk lock from a Sport or TC in excellent condition along with the key(s),and matching glovebox lock.I bought an NOS set for the doors and ignition, andI want the car to look new when it's painted, locks included.
You should be able to take the locks to a locksmith and have them re-keyed. I did it myself to the Ignition lock on my 94 cougar. Also you can get new ones at the parts store in black or chrome. I know I still have a new Chrome trunk lock for a 88 cougar. I totaled the car before I got the time to install it. Just like the Bra I bought for it. So take your pick. LOL
I don't have a black one now,that's my problem.If I get a new one from a parts store,it won't come with the glovebox lock.I need the set.
You WANT a set, not NEED a set....I have a bunch of locks and keys, doors, trunks, and ignition, pretty much all black faced and some with turbo coupe keys. I don't think I've ever taken the glove box lock out without busting it. What color is your interior going to be, maybe I've got the right color glove box door so I won't have to try taking it apart. If you know any secrets about getting the lock out of the glove box door in one piece, now would be a good time to tell me so I don't wreck another one................lopez
No,I NEED a set.Wanting a set is if I didn't care whether it's done right or not.Needing a set is doing the job right the first time, and matching parts they way they should be.If you have a matching trunk and glove box lock, just pull the handle assembly from the glove box.I think it has 3 phillips head screws holding it on.I need the same key to work both locks.Thanks.
I looked but I couldn't find a glove box lock that worked, sorry.....
Thanks for trying.
