Title: Turbo Coupe model on Mythbusters
Post by: cougarcragar on June 06, 2007, 09:10:10 PM
Who is watching the new episode of Mythbusters?

I was amazed to see them using a model of an '87-'88 Turbo Coupe in their wind tunnel tests. It's nice to see that kind of recognition on such a quality show.
For reference, they're trying to bust the myth of "drafting" behind a trunk on the interstate.

Yeah, I actually leaned forward in excitement. I never do that.

Yeah, Will. It works.
At one point, they witnessed a 40% increase in gas mileage. I think it was about 20' from the rear of a truck.

Not sure about gas mileage, but drafting behind a truck decreased my temp significantly driving out to cleveland in the ranchero last weekend. Went from almost out of Normal in to hot to slightly above normal temp.

Here are some poor pictures from the show.
I'm so excited to finally see our cars represented in the media in a good way.

Two more shots.
It may seem like I'm making a big deal out of this, but I'm so happy to see our cars used on television. It's about  time.

All I can say about drafting behind a vehicle that stands big with high road clearance is this:

BETTER HOPE THERE IS NO ROAD-KILL  AHEAD OF YOU !!
