Eric got me thinking about my 1st car. I know we have done this before, but hey, I'm old and ...............I'm old. nuff said.
This is pretty close. 1968 Plymouth fury III Two Door Coupe. They only made this body as is for one year for some reason. 67' had a different tailend, and the 69 was allot different. I had a stock 318, but my exterior color was a Metallic sky blue. It was a pretty color. If these are worth what they are asking for some of these, I know our Cats n Birds will one day bring this value also. Trust me, almost no one except a mopar guy, and only a few of them, knows that there is a difference between a 67' & a 68'. I'm not sure if it was some kind of option or what, but mine actually had a 3 speed wiper motor......not adjustable, it actually had 3 different speed settings. Never seen that before or since. Mine was in perfect shape when my dad bought it for me at $500.00. Then, well.......I was a teenager, what do you think happened. I think the 1st damage to the car was when my foster brother road about 6 or 7 miles down a partly twisty road on, yes, on the hood of my car. He tore off my antena trying to hold on. When we pulled into McDonalds, we saw the police inside just before they saw us. They saw him get off the hood, and we told them he just jumped on. WHEW! They believed us, but that was way too close, and 25 years ago. I'm rambling like an old man, so i hope someone enjoys this. If not, I did anyway.:D

This is my first car. Still regret the day I sent it to the JY but it had irreparable damage.

Mine was almost exactly like this, including the py black paint. I had the "honeycomb" polycast wheels, though. *EDIT* Upon looking closer at this pic, this car looks more and more like ol' Bertha - it's even missing the front ground effects, just like mine was
1978 OLDSMOBILE REGENCY 98 2 DOOR.
Picture the below car in white with a blue landau top (not tan). Had the Olds 350 as well. Needed a cam when I bought it so my uncle and myself threw a hi perfomance one in. Nothing nuts just an Edelbrock that was slightly better than stock. We also threw in a radiator from a Caddy with a 500 Cubic inch motor. The car ran about 20* colder after that.
I had planned to put some duals on it and paint it real good (The rear quarters had some surface rust when I got it and I sanded 'em down and rattle canned 'em. The rest of the paint was immaculate as was the landau top. I spun a bearing on it about 9 months after throwing the cam in. At that point the parents were looking to find a home for the Red '87 V6 Cougar. The rest is history!:D
This was my first. 1985 3.8L Cougar. I did alot of motor tranny and diff swaps in this thing over the years. Still got it, and am SLOWLY doing a restoration on it.
This is my first car. I still have it just waiting for the time/money to restore it.

I'm going to join the ranks with Sleeper T-Bird87 as my first was a 70 Torino GT 429.
Actually had a 70 Torino wagon for one day that I got for stacking a cord of wood. I traded it the day after I got it to the lady that had the Torino.
Story goes her ex-husband bought the GT new, She got it in the Divorce, then She got a Boyfriend that ran it off the road bending the front tie rods and other steering gear, then left her with 2 kids and a broken car. The wagon ran and drove so she asked me to trade.
New steering and a front end alignment and it was on the road. That 429 was one rocken engine 120 and pulling and it just wanted to go even faster.
Ended up with 3 of them the first was the Black 429 Auto. Next was a Blue 70 that had a lot of special options
351w, 4speed top loader, 9” Locker, Factory Tach, Rear Defrost, Hideaway Headlights, Laser Stripes, Buckets, console. This was my pride and joy, Flawless and got it for $700 on payments
Third was a Grabber Orange 70 Torino Cobra… this was the 429 that exploded in my buddy’s face from Fuel in the crankcase.
Heres a link to check out what the hideaways looked like (http://"http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ford-Torino-GT-1970-FORD-TORINO-GT-429-COBRA-JET-ORIGINAL1-OWNER_W0QQitemZ110133834380QQihZ001QQcategoryZ31836QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem")

My first car. Got it in early August 2005. After months of Ebay heartache, I gave all of my Graduation money to my Parents and told them to find me whatever they could. I needed transportation badly. Can't look for work without a car! So, late one afternoon while in my bedroom, I see a flash of blue light streak past the blinds on my window. I peer out and see this:
87 Base model. V6 engine, Manual Windows, no Power ANYTHING but Mirrors. But hey, the A/C blew Ice Cold and it ran.
Looked like this.
1987 Plymouth Voyager with a 2.6L Mitsu I4 that made all of 102 hp. The slowest car ever. It's top speed was 75 mph. It literaly wouldn't go any faster. Blew up the engine after a 2 hour highway trip to vistit my buddy down at U of I.
This is my first car...you all might recognize it ;)
My first is... you guessed it, the Fila
That blue is nice!
Nice Torino's guys, very nice. I tried talking my dad into a 69' Camaro RS. Guess he just new better. Lucky dogs. ROOOOOOF!!!
First car was the Cougar. First car I purchased was my ex Daily, now little brothers 2003 Ford Escape 4x4. Yellow little SUV that I paid $2700 from a lease company. Cougar was an inheritance from my deceased Uncle.
Your dad let you have a car?
Lucky dog! Dident get mine until after I moved out on my own, my father wouldent allow it.
I wasn't allowed to get my license till TWO WEEKS before I started college. I had turned 18 2 weeks before hand, and had a [shiznitty] job for about 5 months already.
When i First bought my car 4 years ago.

My 1st car was a 86' T-bird. It just went to the junkyard this past winter becasue of Major rust damage. My 2nd car is the 87' Cougar, in my sig.
my first car was identical, and just as clean looking. only one small cigarette burn in the p/s seat. i got rear-ended by a guy in a dodge 2500 pulling a bulldozer and nearly got run straight over and/or pushed into the path of an incoming semi truck. :( i should scan the pics one day.
I started a post on this subject on the Cadillac forum, I hope you don't mind the link, I post under Ted in Olympia.

my first was a truck:the first is not mine, but really close
and today, 17 years later
My first car waiting for some TLC, which will be coming soon hopefully:
Fairly early pic, after sitting a couple years in the backyard.
Uncle had a friend that had it sitting in his apartment parking lot for about 3 years, And parents got it from him for me at the cost of towing it about 3 miles home. :hick:
Here's my baby, my '79 Monte Carlo. We've been together for 10 years now, her looks have gone down hill but her performance keeps getting better. Started out life with a bonestock 267 v8,slipping trans, and pegleg 2.29 gears. Now has a rebuilt 350 pulled from a '74 police interceptor Caprice, TH350 w/2000rpm stall and very soon 3.73 posi. It's gone from a 20.xx to a 15.6 quarter mile despite still having the stock 2.29 gear ratio. This car has gone to hell and back again with me, and I wouldn't trade it for anything on earth

'76 Camaro Type LT with a 305.
My grandfather bought it new for my aunt as her first car. When she bought her '80 Trans Am, she gave the Camaro back to my grandfather who in turn passed it over to my sister 13 years later when she turned 16 in '93. My sister then passed it over to me to fix up as my first car but with the lack of funding and time, the project fell through. I never really got to drive it although I had a million memories with it and it was my first real car.
This picture was taken the day the new owner came to pick it up last summer.

This turned out better than I thought. Sweet pics, links & etc.
Yes my dad had no idea about my dark side......hehe. My first wife use to say that when i was behind the wheel of a car that I would loose my salvation. I'm very passive by nature, generaly anyway, but behind the wheel of a car, that changes. VERY aggresive. But that was over 25 years ago.
Love it 87BlueBird
Had one myself Black with Gold pinstripes and the gold keystone classic mags.
I like to rate my cars by dollars per mile I get from them... My 79 Monti was the best I ever had
Paid $1200 for it from a dealership I used to work at
I got 250,000 and never did a thing to that 267 but rebuilt heads becouse I got them for $40. at a swap meet then did cam and chain at the same time.
350000 on that bottom end when I let it go
$1200 / 250000 = .0048 cents a mile to drive that car
I don't count the heads cam or chain as I wright that off as maintence it needs, like oil, tires, ect. Stuff all cars need.
My parents bought one of those brand new - theirs was an '84, and it spent more time in the shop than it did in our driveway. It was such a POS that my father traded it in on a new Cherokee 9 months later. I'll always remember the first time he opened the hood and saw the engine in there sideways...
You're lucky to have hung onto your first car. I miss my Bertha terribly, and now, given the cost of second-gen F-bodies it will cost a fortune to replace her (I say "will" because I will do it some day). There's a mint '79 Monte just up the road from me, metallic brown. I've always loved that style. For the record, a sequencer will work in it :deal:
On a dollars to mile basis I was actually paid to drive my first car. I bought it for six hundred, put about forty dollars worth of maintenance into it over two years, then sold it for $1700.
can't find pictures of it but my first was a 1980 amx. 304 4 spd. concord type though not a real 2 seat one. but to this day i still love amc. its a shame you can't find one but i'd love to have an eagle wagon.
My first was a Celebrity Wagon I do miss it some time. Then it was the Ranger, Cougar, and the Asspirate.
The first I got to drive was an 87 caravan that was running by the grace of god.
My First Is In My Sig And Still Have Her Got Her About 8 Years Ago
My black '86 GS. This picture shows the car after some of the modifications I had performed, such as the Cragar wheels (hence my user name).
This was back in 1998.
seeing all the cars all you older guys had when you were younger, makes me wish i was born back then. god !
There's a guy at work that has an old Model A that use to belong to his Grandpa. He's restored and it looks pretty good for a model A.
Looks realy good.
For all you guys that have your original car, enjoy, most of us don't.
NICE!
Except for my 1st car, most of my 1st 6 or so cars were pretty junky to begin with. 1st nice car I ever had was my 76 mustang II. It was in really good shape, before I drove off the highway one day with it. Long story. About a year later I had a 77 mustang II 4 cylinder 4 speed. Car was a total piece of junk. It was in such bad shape that I use to write on it with my keys. The drivetrain on it wasn't any better either. I paid more in parts than I did for the car.

Just like my first except mine was a light blue.
My second is the Cougar.

I lost most of the pictures of my old car when my old computer crashed.
This is one of the few I have left. 1990 2.3L Mustang. Slower than slow, but it handled pretty good. I got it my senior year of high school, drove it year-round for 5 years before it pretty much succumbed to rust. I sold it for $100 to some guys for parts in 2005.
The first car I really truly drove that was "mine" was my dad's old '88 Reliant, which was an awful turd (and looked like one), but it was never in my name and I only drove it for about a month.
Not my car but just like it. 66 Nova 4 door with a truck 6 cylinder. And I'm 22, so the car was god awful old when I got it.

1971 Honda 600.
Here's what was left of it getting loaded on the trailer,
about 25 years ago...
.
This was my first car, 1982 Escort 1.6L 4-speed.
I bought it my junior year in high school and I needed a co-signer for the loan. My friends had cool cars, '57 Chevy, Cutlass 442, Camaro, but my parents wouldn't co-sign for the loan unless it was a non-performance, practical car.
We always drove my car to the car shows & swap meets because it would get 40+ mpg easily and it was the most reliable. With gas prices nowadays, I miss it.
My second car is the one in my signature, I bought it in December of '87. Since I didn't need a co-signer anymore, I bought the car I wanted. :D

:cougarsmily:
My grandparents had one like that in gold. It just wouldn't die:hick: . They had a really nice 1980 Olds 88 Royale they used for special ocasions and long distance trips and the escort was their "in town" car.
My first car was an 1984 Buick Regal that my brother gave to me. The oil pump went out in it after about 2 months of driving. Thanks bro.
My first car(that I actually drove...had 3 others that never quite made it) was actually an '84 F-150 with the 300 inline 6 and the NP-435 4-speed...for those who don't know has no OD and 1st is a super granny gear. I was super proud of it because I paid the $575 for it out of my own pocket. There was quite a bit of rust and I used probably close to 4lbs of filler on it...lol. Was partially red and partially primer gray.
First mod...lakewood slapper bars that actually pre-loaded the springs, worked like magic. Second mod...straight piped the ler with a rectangular Z28 tip tucked up nicely. Third mod...exhaust fell off, cut off rear cat, front cat was hollow already so on went a 3" pipe that exited at the passenger side rear corner of the cab.
That truck suprised the hell out of a lot of riced out civics...lol. I still miss it every now and then. I drove it for 3 days with a broken clutch fork...I ended up snapping the shifter off in the trans from jammin gears.
First car i actually drove was a 1980 F100 with a 3 speed on the column. My friend bought it off a friend we tore off down the street after putting a new steering column in it. In third gear doing about 50 we found out quick we had no brakes (that was no fun btu we didnt kill noone). My first car i owned was a 85 or 85 chevy celebrity 4 door not a wagon in a light blue. i couldnt find a picture of it. I loved that car I got it impounded and never went and got it (long story). I beat a few cars with that the only car i lost to was i tried racing a 95 Impala in Staten Island ended up racing over the verrazano bridge into brooklyn at what i felt was light speed my foot was practicalle through the floor. He decided to stop coasting and actually stepped on the gas and POOF he was gone. So we had no money on us to pay the toll and we were stuck in brooklyn.
My first car was an '83 Heritage. I still have the car and I'm in the process of turning it into a racecar to run in NHRA Stock Eliminator.
Obviously, this wasn't the factory color. It was originally a cream color but after seeing this color on my father's '88 Lincoln Mark VII, I thought it would look good on the T-Bird.
What's with all the Brand-X stuff??? :D I thought this was a Ford group!! Just kidding...love to see em all.
Here's my first car I bought in 1976.
67 Fairlane
289, C4
The best part.... I still have it! :)
