Hey peoples, Here is a site you all can check out for a 4 pc body kit for our cars. http://www.wickedbodies.net/83-90-Tbird.htm
I might get one of these
John
That is the ugliest, most mis-matched bodykit I've ever seen for any car. That is just hideous!
Meh... But I'd like to see 83-6 kit
no new news here... the flares they added to that kit doesnt match the car at all. i could see using the front bumper but the side kits and back bumper looks absolutely dreadful.
this is the link to the pics of my 88 xr-7:cougarsmily: . same kit done right. http://www.foxtbirdcougarforums.com/showthread.php?t=12191 (http://"http://www.foxtbirdcougarforums.com/showthread.php?t=12191")
Sorry to even mention the site!! That looks almost like the body kit ford offered in 87 for 83'- 86' birds. Won't post anything else on body kits. Sheeez
I like whatever body kit Kyle has on his.
No Please do. Funny how the first post or two in any thread seems to set the pace for all the lemmings to follow. This thread started out with
"That is the ugliest, most mis-matched bodykit I've ever seen for any car. That is just hideous!"
and followed with negative comments...
then the other tread about the exact same kit started with
"beautiful car man i love it, black the only way to go"
has comments
"That is looking great"
"I like it "
"Nice car, I really like it"
"Nice!"
"it's teh purdyful. :P"

Let's just wright it off as a
"recurrent mass migration" by the
"small short-tailed furry-footed rodents" on this site (we have lots)
Thats funny as hell
Thanks for the post 1BadBird, And I been thinking the same kit, With my 2" drop on my bird that would fit nice.
I like how neither of my comments made your list Jim. I'm indefferent for teh 87-8 but would like to see the 83-6 ones
I still don't like it. The pieces don't match or flow with one another. And the nose missing the middle section is just lame. The sideskirts with a different nose and tail would be OK, but they don't flow with the car very well. The tail is the only remotely flowing piece, and even then I'd only use it on a 83-86.
Still hideously ugly.
FWIW i like it
i will say that the rear bumper is ugly for the fact it never rolls back under the car it looks like a plow, but the side skirts do look like those of another kit. as for the front i'm not to sure yet. i think if it had something else besides those 14"s and was lowered it would look good but that pic sucks so its hard to tell
i dont mean to offend anyone, but even on that cougar... it looks decent b/c its black, but i still hate it. cant change my mind on that one. i dont think our birds need body kits. thats just my opinion. i can see putting a TC bumper cover on the car, but other than that, even a wing unless its flush or ducktailed is ugly. but yeh, if you find more body kits post them.. there might be one out there that actually fits the car IMO.
Did any of you like the nose used on the 87-88 Winston Cup cars?
i loved it, but it was 100% custom sheet metal.
i wish i knew how to custom fabricate a kit. that kit though, yeah... it's kinda yucky, but what other choices are there? that, and maybe with a lowering kit, some 18s, and a different color, it might be pimpin.
For the people that are looking for a ground effects kit, which are extremely difficult to find for these cars to begin with, this kit is a great solution (if it's still in stock).
For those that don't like the kit, or would not want to put the kit on their cars...you don't have to buy it, so why the attitude? Don't ruin it for those that are a) excited to find a source for a kit, b) are willing to share the source with others, and c) might actually like the kit. Isn't the principle of helping others what this board is all about?
Or have some of us forgotten that somewhere along the line?
Sorry Eric, I forgot my manners :(
But that kit is so ugly I'd rather they drove their car off of a cliff. :hick:

This is a MUCH better kit IMHO. It matches piece-to-piece and actually flows with the car.
I am thinking about making a custom kit. As far as other kits go I wish they still made the one from the front and rear bumpers that Nate Killmon (http://"http://www.turbotbird.com/showroom/nk_88tc.html") has on his TC.

^^^OMG that car is shag. Jeeeeeze. So hot. Call me crazy but I love the little winow things that keep the wind from being gale force powered. Weasle has them too, and on an all black car they look tits. I found that kit a while back, and was thinking about getting it when I had the bird. Honestly it's not the greatest thing on earth, but it works. I'd say if it were a little bit more rounded off on the edges it'd be great.
Oh, and correct me if I'm wrong, but the guy who has the Super Coupe motor in his car, I think he's the one with another kit that looks really sweet. I think it was a Maroon car.
I am going to throw this one out just to see the reaction. I think the guys that grew up liking the IMSA road race cars of the late 70s to 80s might find it interesting. Too bad the guys that show it on their web site will not respond to emails.

For some reason when I saw that the first thing that popped into my head was DeLorean. Interesting though, didn't know there was a widebody for MN12's.
omg first thing i thought to was delorean not bad looking though
I like the MN12 widebody.
Autocat,
The noses on the W/C cars was originally yellow urethane, just like the factory bumper cover. The company made a small run, and went out of business. More was made of blow-moulded plastic, but the small teams and even the big teams by late 88 had gone to fiberglass. They're not allowed to have sheetmetal noses.
I borrowed a nose from the Elliotts and made a mould for myself.
Nate's kit is what my first TC had. That kit is gold. THAT's a kit I'd buy!
Nate Killmon (http://"http://www.turbotbird.com/showroom/nk_88tc.html") the owner of the car i posted a pic of on the previous page. He is also the NATO vice president.
Oh ok. Yeah that kit is gold... you'd probably have to pay that if you could find it for sale these days too.
After looking at that link, I've come to the conclusion that there is such a thing as too much black. It looks way better with the headlight covers off. Still a sick car none the less.
The kit does look much beter on the black cougar than the white t-bird but I still don't like it.
I'd really like to have this kit too!
I think this ones pretty hot!
Are there any other styles for 4 eyes or just what Kyle has?
Anybody know about patents on this type of thing? Like if i were to "copy" that front piece and the rear piece will Pacific(or whoever made it) be able to say it is patented?
I would be doing it "freehand" not making a mold of an existing part but i would probably style it after that kit.
Ive seen that widebody kit in person, and it looked AMAZING. The pictures do not do it justice.
I know for a fact that i could make that body kit look good on a bird. All it takes is a little bit of effort.
I really like that black tbird, didn't like the white one though, and for the wide body MN12, get rid of the mirrors, and that air deflector across the bottom of the windshield and it would look killer.
I am still trying to contact them about the wide body kit. I did find out they have a store on Evilbay. I managed to find a phone listing for them, so sometime this week I will call them.
I agree with the mirrors and air deflector. Lose the antenna too its distracting.
Is this a motorsport front air dam or something else?
Well, I bought the wickedbodies kit for my car; however, the front air dam was busted. It will be put back in the shop in 2 weeks to be finished, and I post some picks after all is said and done.
about the last post on the air dam, It looks the same as the one on the pic on page 2 & 4.
88sportscoupe, I wish I had that airdam a few years ago(if it fits 87-88)
Would have saved me a lot of work, but the mould I have now produces a complete bolt-on bumpercover.
Looks nice.
I think it looks alright, other than the rear bumper skirt. That's bizzare and looks like it was made from bristle board.
Well the pic i posted is up for sale on ebay (http://"http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ford-Motorsport-Nascar-Thunderbird-Front-Air-Dam-87-88_W0QQitemZ200119280122QQihZ010QQcategoryZ38658QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem") right now. I didnt want to post it at first but i dont have $200 to spare now anyway. I would have loved to get it and make a mold of it.
