Title: The cougar has a little more growl now...
Post by: Sick88Tbird on May 28, 2007, 08:04:26 PM
I finally installed my ceramic coated Mac longtube headers and Pro-Chamber...needless to say, it sounds great BUT a major pain in the dick to install...who would have throught that a Mac pro-chamber designed specifically for their long-tube headers wouldn't fit right...on the driver side it seems like they made the s-bend on the pro-chamber too far back so it just stays against the floor and makes every nut and bolt in the  car rattle.

Maybe somebody else has had better experience, but as far as I'm concerned, I will never buy another Mac exhaust product so long as I live.

I've only bought a set of flowtubes from them because it was the only place I'd found 'em for sale separately.  I've heard awful things about MAC header fitment and sealing, etc.

Welcome to the club.

I don't think I have ever heard anyone say anything good about installing MAC headers. I certainly did not have a good experience. But they did sound pretty sweet. :)

It sucked ass on mine. Once they were on they look good, sound great... but the key is once they are on. I guistimate no less then 3 hours dickin with them. But for $50 shipped, I'm not complaining for Chrome equal legnth headers with new ARP bolts

My Summit H and catback flew on with out a hitch tough.. I think it's just a headers thing. I think most of mine was the headers were used.  New might be another story

Well, after actually looking at them and talking to a few of my friends...I've come to believe they may have boxed them wrong...I had ordered TFA793, which is supposed to be 1 5/8" for AOD...the primaries looked about as big as the 1 3/4" headers my buddy had on his cleveland....after putting a dial caliper on them, I got a reading of 1.879", which is a quite a bit bigger than 1 5/8"(1.625").

The car definitely has some more go-nads now...but I think the major choke point now is the y crimped 2" tail pipes...lol.

I'm probably going to keep them until I get the right inspection sticker on the car...right now it has all my old T-bird's info on it...lol.

I also found the cam that I wanted, so when I sell my art carr tranny, it'll be H/C/I time.
