Exactly 20 years ago today, my parents and I purchased my first Cougar. It was a Light Cadet Blue Metallic Clearcoat 1984 Cougar GS with the 3.8 V6, that we got from a local car dealer a mere 2 days prior to my high school graduation. It's the car that, for me, started my lifelong love affair with the aero Fox Cougar. That car and I were inseparable, through college and into the real world, and it was a bond that I'll never forget as long as I live. Truthfully, without that car this board and my site probably would have never existed.
So today is my 20-year anniversary of owning a Cougar. My first photo op with the car, in 1987:

I'll be there June 1-3. Towing the convertible with my Mountaineer, and driving the '84. It's going to be an adventure, I'm sure LOL. I hate the fact that the convertible, for the first time ever, will become a trailer queen for a car show. But my buddies are driving the truck, and this way we just drop the cars off at the fairgrounds and leave them all weekend, while we tote back and forth to the hotel in the truck. This is a special year...even though it's expensive, it's worth it. Plus, I can only run premium unleaded in the convertible. Either way I'm going to get gouged at the gas pump. I want to "blow some carbon" out of the '84 so what better way than a 500-mile trip? ;)

Like I said in another post, my 20th is a proxy for my '69 GTO - thus the need for a KB 'charger to simulate a 400 cu. in. engine :D .
