Now that I have your attention. I'm looking to see how many people we have here in the GREAT STATE of OHIO. Maybe we can have a spring and fall 1 day event around Columbus. Possibly Spring or fall if we can have at least a 1/2 dozen cars show up. If any one from other local states is interested, chime in. I started a list:
Yellow86coogr
Mayhem
Ifixyawata
Fila
EricCoolCats
83Heritage
nirvanagod
bhazard
dw43935
Chooglin - - - - - - - - - - 10
CougarSE
20th anny 5.o
blknredcougar
not Batman
crystal
Michigan
Ether947
Indiana
gumby
Mentaly absent but here none the less.
Also Ifixyawata ( Brian ) is about 5 miles from me
Cool. Thanks Fila
Anytime man. Eric is close to me too, just not sure exactly where. Anything I can do to help out, let me know
Thanks Fila. I know Mayhem will most likely like this also, and I'll see him Saturday when i fly out of Columbus this weekend. Special parts delivery. Next week I plan on posting of what i saved from my 87' parts car when i get back home. I have a feeling we have at least 20 or so members in Ohio alone.
I am in Cbuttstuff Fulton, about 2 hours North East of Columbus, of 30 mins South of Akron, or 1 hour West of Youngstown.
I'm around somewhere's.
Don't wanna make any promises, but I might, just might have my car ready for that kinda trip in Fall, but for right now I know it's questionable whether my car will be ready for the short trip to CJ.
here
2 hrs. from Columbus.:D
I see 6 so far, 7 if you count the Coolcat
I live in a small town north of Ravenna Ohio. cant make the trip this year, but am interested if it will be a yearly thing.
I still need to do a side by side of our cars one day. You coming to CJ?
I sure hope so.this car is going together slower than I thought it would.I am just trying to take my time on it (I hate doing things twice).
I'm getting mine done.
duh!
I'm about 20 minutes from Columbus.
Im in toledo If Bhazard would like to pool, as in he lead the way and i follow in my Edge Cougar i would be willing, i know im going to try to make it to Cj (again that will be in my 99 if i show up the 87 is still not road worthy). With the new job i have we work a 4 day 10 hour week so if i do end up going to Cj I will most likely show up on the friday before the weekend.
I need a date.I will see you all at; Carsile, or at Catjam. yes?
Detroit!
Actually my job has offices in Columbus, Toledo and Cleveland. I might be able to make a business trip out of it. :)
BTW, they are always hiring (growing company) so if anyone is looking for a job send me a PM.
3hrs west of columbus.
i spend quite a few weekends there workin on a buddies trail rig.
I'll be living in Cleveland at least until December, so a fall meet is a possibility for me.
What sucks is i never actually get to GO places in my car. No money, need job. lol.
That's one reason I've been wanting to do something like this for some time. This year, I won't be able to go to CatJam or the Awesome Cougar 40th at Carlisle. Yes, it sucks being low on funds. Once I get an idea of how many would actually be interested and other information about what may or may not be happening in the Fall and Spring, we can get a better idea as to where and so forth. This would be just a 1 day get together. I'm tempted to go to CatJam just to get a shirt. I've gone the last three years, and it really sucks not being able to this year. Things can change, but right now, I know I can't do it.
Heh, A meet in central Ohio? Hell yeah! I'm always up for that. :D
I'm game, if I'm not in bootcamp at the time. Just get to me with a time and place.
For me, everything will depend on...everything. Springtime generally won't work for me, as the car probably won't be insured whenever this meet happens. Fall is 50/50...that's when I tackle big projects on the car. So I can meet up with you guys, time willing...it just might be in my truck. :hick:
Hey, I like the blue truck. I might have to take the Vic if I go
Hey, you're always welcome in Columbus. Hell, if you need, I got an air mattres and you can crash my place.
LOL i know how that goes. I just saved my own ass from total job uncertainness by procuring a position at Sunrise windows before Aldez closed the doors on us.
Well im pretty much a computer nerd/geek/whatever so ive been looking up the computer tech jobs at places like circuitcity and bestbuy but havent heard anything yet. But I have a feeling im gonna be broadening my search here pretty quick. But if you know of anyone or anyplace thats looking for someone like me, lemme know. Its what Im good at, so obviously thats what Id prefer as a job heh.
Nick (AtroXR7) and I are in the Toledo area.
Cool. I know there are allot more on here that have not replied, but I think we have plenty to start with anyway. I'll be working with Mayhem- martin- as to when and where in Columbus. We are thinking late fall for this year. We are going to try and find out what is going on with mustang and other Ford clubs, and hopefully just join up with one of their meets. We can all meet up and have as many as we can drive in together. Any one else interested outside the area I am sure would be welcome if interested also. If anyone else knows of any mustang, or any other car events, let us know. Once we have a possible date, we will be posting it in the event area.
I can put something up on Corral and see if I get any bites
I think there are more Buckeye members than any other state.
Are they local to Columbus?
Didn't post yet. Let me know and I will. Never know, there are alot of Ohio guys for sure though
Put this up at Buckeye stangs

Seems like a nice site

We should get together soon.
I get all the paperwork done and a decient tune done to the car, I'd be in soon. What you thinkin for a date Claude?
I'm in. Hopefully. You guys have to get up early because us third shift people work at night!
im in wyandotte mi, just about 30mins from the border
As soon as we get a date set, we'll post it. The more the better :D
I have a suggestion for time and place. August 26th @ Mansfield Reformatory. For those that don't know about the Mansfield Reformatory, it was built in 1886 and is the worlds largest free standing cell block, it was used for movies such as Shawshank Redemption, Air force one, and Godsmack and Marilyn Manson have filmed music videos there. I think that would be an really cool place to meet. They offer different tours people can do. http://www.mrps.org Like I said, just a suggestion.
Present
Hey 83Heritage, I want something a little more central, like columbus, but that's not totaly up to me. We'll keep that one in mind.
Meet for Steel Vally nationals, Canfeild Ohio?
Steel Valley Nationals are now in Salem. Have been since last year.
Sorry, Salem Ohio then? Cool cars and now we have the drag strip back?
Ooh, ooh, drag strip. That's 4+ hours away from though. hmmm. Drag racing, hmm. I'm seriously thinking of going to my local strip tomorow. I'm gonna have to trailer it there, since the brakes lock up after 15+ minutes of driving. After cool off, they back off. My 2nd gear synchro is messing up unless I baby it, but at least I'll get an idea of what the car can actualy do for a change. It will be it's first time at the strip.
I know for sure I can make the meet if it's there. I'll even scout out restrants and meet up places if everyone wants. I'll do what ever I can, I'd love to meet you guys.
When is this? later in the year I hope.
I belive it's July 30th abouts. I'll get back to ya in a bit
The steel valley nationals are next weekend. June 22-24th

Oh well, never mind. Still looking for something much after CatJam, like September or so.
I must have got Catjam and Steel vally confused.
Actually, for all 22 people that responded, for a round trip Mansfield is an average distance of 244 miles, and Columbus is an average distance of 286 miles. Keep in mind this is for everyone who responded in this topic, MI, IN, and PA people included. For just ohio people, for a round trip Mansfield is an average distance of 205 miles, and Columbus is an average distance of 243 miles. So in either case Mansfield, is about 40 miles shorter round trip. All the distances were figured out using stated locations, and Yahoo Maps.
Ok. I'm impressed. :D . Safe to assume they are open all year round, and Sundays??? This could be a really cool get together. Care to research on the car shows/criuses in the area for later in the year also? This could be a really cool get together. If anyone else is familiar with the area, that would be helpful too. Maybe there is a drag strip nearby too. ;) I would consider this a group effort, I'm just pushing the idea. So, whatever those that are interested in doing this think about it, is very cool with me.
I'm good, I'll help out where ever I can
They are open every Sunday until September 23rd. They have three main tours that you can choose from,
"WEST TOWER TOUR
Experience the view from the Guard Tower after winding up the spiral staircase. From this perspective, you will see the cemetery in which inmates were buried with only their assigned number on the grave. This tour also stops at the Big Dig, where you can observe the underground tunnel system. There is extensive stair-climbing on this tour. Taking pictures from the wall or Guard Tower portion of this tour is NOT PERMITTED."
"EAST CELL BLOCK TOUR
Travel the length of the East Cell Block, the world’s largest freestanding steel cell block. On this tour, you will also pay a visit to the Catholic Chapel above the Central Guard Room. Get an insight into the living quarters as you venture on through multiple floors. This tour involves extensive stair-climbing. "
"HOLLYWOOD TOUR
See the Shawshank Prison Warden’s office, Parole Board Room and Andy Dufresne’s escape tunnel. Hazard a trip into the sinister “hole”. View the 1886 West Cell Block used as a Russian prison in Air Force One. This tour also involves extensive stair-climbing."
West Tower Tour
1:00 PM 1:45 PM 2:30 PM 3:15 PM
East Cell Block Tour
1:15 PM 2:00 PM 2:45 PM 3:30 PM
Hollywood Tour
1:30 PM 2:15 PM 3:00 PM 3:45 PM
"There are three different routes to choose from on Sunday. Tours are $8.00 (Adults) and $6.00 (Ages 7 -17). Additional tours taken on the same day are $5.00. Tickets are purchased on a first come first serve basis. Gates open and tickets are sold one half hour prior to 1:00 PM. Each tour is approximately one hour in length."
"Guests are invited to visit our gift shop and museum where they can view a replica of the Electric Chair."
Dragway 42 is within a half hour drive, but from their website it looks like they only do test and tune on Friday nights. http://www.dragway42.com
I might give them a call later on in the year to make sure, but it does mention test/tune on Sundays', so maybe it's after the money racing ends. I added it to my favorites.
Can we get someone to move this to the events section......pretty please!:D
Sorry guys but due to a total F*ck up in the toledo court system i probably wont be able to make it to CJ i will be able to give an update by about the second week of july. Not to mention i still have not reserved any rooms or any of that stuff. In the offbeat chance i do show i will probably be showing up with an 89 SC in tow.
Whats up man?
Tuesday this next tuesday to be exact i have to go to court for a ticket that was never paid. I paid online at the Toledo clerk of courts .org and it must have never went through. The bills that will amass will probably wipe me out for a few weeks. 150 for a lawyer 113 for the ticket and 50 for court costs. Then the week afterwards i have both my car payment and insurance to pay.
shiznit son. That really sucks big ones. I wish you the best of luck
Thanks , but thats just how life is , i have learned a lesson when your paying something as important as a ticket as much of a pain in the ass it may be go pay in person. I hope the Judge does see it my way as i have the bank statements from 04-07 to present and they have been notarized showing that i kept an even balance of at least 113 in my bank account at all times.
Do you have a reciept of payment for it?
did toledoclerckofcourts.org give you a page to print out as a receipt?
when you never saw it clear the bank did you question anyone about it?
*edit* what FILA said^^
I went to the local precinct every friday to see WTF was going on, and they said that they would e mail the receipt to me. After a month i was getting anxious because they still had not taken the money out but being local government i figured they were just dragging their asses. and no receipt.
If you can prove that, it may be a case. Any proof you paid it like a check or a " cost" on a credit card bill?
thats the thing it never went through, so essentially i did not pay although i thought i did.
I'm pretty big on keeping reciepts and such, and maybe I am a little overkill sometimes, but all it takes it one person on the other end to mess, or me to mess it up for them. Hope everything works out.
Heritage, how central would Toledo be to everyone?
I worked a few situations up, and here is what I came up with.
For a round trip for Fila, Eric, 83Heritage, Nirvana God, Ifixyawata, Bhazard, DW43935, Chooglin, CougarSe, 20th Anny5.0, BlankNred, Ether947, silvercv2002, Hellsing73, Gumby, 88sportcoupe, Not Batman, Yellow86Cougar, Mayhem, Blu84302, Crystal, SnubznTown. (All)
Columbus 286.2
Mansfield 244.2455
Toledo 257.9182
Cleveland 245.0727
Cbuttstuff Fulton 249.654545 (My Town)
Wooster 236.663636
Lodi 230

I have all this worked up and saved in an excel spreadsheet if anyone would like to see it.
My house seems pretty centrally located, so if the Wife would give me permission, and everyone would be willing, I am even up for having people meet at my house. If everyone would be willing to chip in a couple of bucks, we could fire up the grill, buy a couple of 12 packs (of pop), and make a day out of it.
I think Martin disappeared though, I'll have to give him a call..
Well the court case did not leave me in ruin like i figured it would, hell they even admitted to getting a request of payment from my card but they denied it(the card). So my question instead of letting me miss a day of work why didn't these ass chugs just tell me your card has been denied.I still probably wont be making it ,finances are still a problem and i need to lay the cement for the pad that the 87 is sitting on soon.
I like that idea allot actualy.
Of course we would have to do this before the first snow, preferably. :D j/k, but you never know sometimes.
I've been concerned a bit also. If you don't, i will. Let us know if he's ok.
20th anny 5.o: Man, that just plain sucks. Too bad you can't make them pay for your time.
Got an e-mail from him a day or so ago. Said he's been busy at work and will see everyone at CatJam.
thats good
I'm still alive. :D
And I'm getting hungry again. :D
We need to finalize this plan soon so everyone can plan for it.
You know I'm all in for any get together.
I might be down for a meetup. could roll the truck out, if its not too ungodly far away.lol
Hell yeah!
Yes we do. Has anyone else taken a look at 83heritages ideas?
What you'all got in mine for the meantime guys? I want to take another look at that 83'.
FYI: The topic on the thread has been moved to the 83heritage poll.
