Yep, there's a local cruise in goin from 9am-3pm tomorrow (Sat...cause in 2 mins, it will be sat morning technically). I'll be up early to give her a bath, then it's time for the car show. I'm pretty curious to see what people think of it (if anybody pays any attention). Funny enough, it's at my old high school too. Hopefully I'll have the camera with me to take some pics.
***EDIT***
Pics are at the bottom of this page ;)
You have to have the camera to take pics.
Just sit back, enjoy and listen carefully for any comments. Their reactions will probably vary from "that's sweet" to "what is that doing here." It's hilarious.
I can't wait to get my car back to the cruises, have fun!
Yeah thats what I figure. Some people will appreciate how clean the car is (especially since it's a daily driver), some may be drawn in by the "Ford 5.0 HO" plate, others will scoff at it. It'll be interesting to see. I just wish I could've had my exhaust done before hand so the growl of it would spark some attention, but oh well. It'll be here soon enough. Some keen-eared spectators will notice the understated rumble through the stock exhaust, though.
Shows are fun. Usually I get either "wow I used to have one of those and I wish I still did" or "holy one of these still exists in good shape"! Shows usually have some cool stuff to take pictures of. The one show I forgot to take my camera to had a '66 factory 427 dual quad Fairlane. It was a sweet car.
Woooow...a 1966 427 Fairlane? My fav body style ever...mmmm. And yeah, I've been to tons of shows with dad's Chevelle, but I'm bettin the Tbird will provide a much different kind of attention.
About to go wash the car, then I'm meeting up with dad and he's gonna drive the Chevelle up there to. Should be fun :) .
Good luck at the show.I hope you win a trophy (or ribbon).Let us know how it turns out.
You wanna get there attention when you leave pull out on the road, get her straight, then stop and put her sideways with a big, nasty, smokey burnout. LOL, just kidding, they might not let you ever come back. Good luck.
King of cars, good luck at the show!! Please post some pics :)
Thunderjet302, Hey dude :D you should come over some time and we can BBQ/ have a few cold ones/ talk T-Birds :D
On the 26th we're having a Nursing Grad party for my wife, you can come if you want, but you must bring your bird :D
John
P.S. If your interested in showing up, PM me for details :D
There were no trophies or anything given out; it was just a cruise in. But I did win a couple of door prizes - a free oil change and tire rotation (which I need anyway!). So that was pretty cool. Anyway, without further ado, here are some pics:

To my surprise, we got the whole family fleet up there. My dad's Chevelle to the left, my Uncle's Caprice in the middle, and of course my Tbird on the right. I need some exhaust BADLY cause my car was so quiet in comparison when we cruised in!

Just last night, playing GT4, I had realized I never seen a Grand Sport Corvette before...low and behold...

As many of you know...one of my favorite cars of all time right there.

As for my car, half the people walked by without even looking, but the other half almost did the same thing but seemed to be drawn in when they saw my nice clean intake stickin out (as you can see in the pics). I didn't overhear any comments, though, since me and a friend were walkin around most of the time. It wasnt a huge turnout, but it was fun to be back at car shows again. And did I meantion that I NEED EXHAUST!!??
awesome!!
Hey,havin' fun and getting together with a bunch of other car people is what it's all about.Throw some new rims on the car,and thenpeople will talk.Plus some fake scoops, lot's of stickers,a tall useless wing, neons, mesh screen in the grille.LOL.
Hahahaha sounds like a plan! Hopefully once I snag some 10 holes and get that TC hood painted that i've had since last April...
I got 10 holes if you wana trade for the 8 holes. Badass lookin 03-4 Cobra beside ya in one pic man
Thanks for the offer; I have another deal I'm workin out on some 10 holes and I might keep the 8s for the winter time. Not sure yet though. I'll keep ya posted.
Chevelle looks good. Time for me to get more pics up of ours. I love that Impala! I want one. So my Digital camera and laptop are both HP but uh my camera wont sync up with my laptop to upload pics. So I cant load pics of the Cougar.
hell if you lived near by, i have a few sets of 10 holes id let go cheap, some snowflakes, and a set of turbines!
Oooo, snowflakes. Hmmmmmmmm. The only thing keeping me from getting those is that I'd need to buy tires. With the 10 holes, my uncle has a spare set of almost brand new 235s that will fit them.
the snowflakes have tires, just not that great
You can polish 10 holes SUPER easy and they will really stand out.If you get the wheels,PM me and I'll give you the quick and easy instructions. When you're finished polishing, you'll be able to see yourself in them. You can do all of the work for less than $50.00.
or paint them and sand the face
NO PAINT on them !!!!
Sweet, sounds like a plan :D . Thanks. The 10 holes with my nice exhaust tips and TC hood (white w/black scoops) will look so nice.
i love the painted ten holes, you just leave the paint in the groove and the holes sand and polish the faces
Painted10 holes are cheesy.Daboss, you'll look back in 5 years or so and realize just how bad your taste really is.LOL.
To each his own, vinnie, to each his own ;) haha
That's funny, LOL.
Dont worry daboss351 we all have those moments from time to time;)
I resent that! My painted ten holes look ed good, thankyouverymuch:

And believe it or not, three years and 20,000 miles later they still look ed good. So good, in fact, that I intend on doing the snowflakes the same way (though I might polish the flat surfaces or paint them white, instead of leaving them satin aluminum finish)
O.K.,I stand corrected....I can admit that. The black looks really good. They still have a factory look as well.
Alright then. Maybe I WON'T come over and pee on your rims tonight...
key word: MAYBE
his are the reason i said anything! i like the way his came out!
Soooooooooooo....how bout them car show pics? :D
Oh yeah. The old, fat guy looking at the Caprice in one of those pics looks exactly like my father (from behind, anyway)
i want all them, except yours its ugly lol j/k
Lol... never been a fan of the ten holes. I'd be totally down for some fattened 8 holes for the rear. The only issue I see with using the 8 holes is they are a 14 inch rim that doesn't give you very many options for a nice set of brakes up front. Other than that, I've kinda taken a liking to the FR500's, and as always the 96 Cobra's as in my avatar, followed by the 5 spoke wheel that has the little ovals cut out of each spoke. Someone on here has them on a silver TC I think...
