Title: rocker/ Vv pan clearance problems
Post by: JrP on May 04, 2007, 08:41:11 PM
I installed crane cam roller rockers (# crn-44746-16) and my stock valve pan covers are 1/2 inch to short, so its time to install a set of tall valve pan covers. I was thinking about getting the edelbrock aluminum covers(# edl-4261).  Has anyone used this combo before. It would be good to know if it will work before I buy.

If someone used another pan that worked with these rockers what is it?

My heads are e7te and the steel covers they came with wont even come close to fitting.
Are the 5.0 H.0 alum covers taller?

the steel covers should clear the 1.7's

the cast h.o covers will not thats why the 93 cobra had steel covers.

the motorsport tall aluminum covers should clear fine.

My stock HO rocker covers cleared my cobra 1.7s without removing the baffle.
Used an ebay thick rubber/steel reinforced gasket though.

Are the cobra 1.7 aluminum rockers only or are they a full roller rocker. the full rollers must be larger. I looked on the edelbrock web site and it says there short pans will clear aluminum rockers and there tall pans will clear roller rockers.
