Title: aluminum drums
Post by: dudeman351 on May 02, 2007, 08:46:04 PM
I had read somewhere that fairmont wagons had 10" aluminum drums. Are these as rare as the mythical svo dohc head?  OR are they available anywhere?

I'll be looking into that.I know where a couple are.I have no idea if the rear is still there, though.Should be,no one wants fairmont rears.Good question.

They're common in the GM large-car camp. A lot of people building street rods use 'em for their looks (I even saw one once that had a full disc brake setup hidden inside a housing made to emulate the aluminum drum). Never seen a Ford one though...

Maybe that's why I have yet to see one...I hate working on any GM product, they're all junk IMO...lol.
