We traded the van for a 2003 Chrysler 300M Special so we could get a lower car payment. It's about $100/mo cheaper and a hell of alot nicer than the 2003 Town & Country van we had. It's 3.5L V6 is rated at 258HP/250TQ with a "performance tuned" suspension that actually feels performance tuned. Wheels are 17" with 225 ZR 55's. Its got every option such as Leather interior, heated memory seats, CD changer, power sunroof, etc... It's gonna need a brake job soon and there are some sun faded trim pieces I need to replace but other than that its like new.
i love those cars. my buddy had one that got hit by a drunk driver. unfortunately he was burried in the negative equidy so he couldnt get into another. awesome, awesome cars. they scoot right along too.
I'd like to get one of those when I jettison the Volvo. Very, very nice cars, and with Chrysler's legendary resale value they can be had cheap
Nice looking car.Congrats to the wife.
I like the newer ones a little better. They look a lot like a charger!
Sharp looking car though! Congrats!
Yes indeed! This one they dropped the price to $11,000 which is just below wholesale value.
Looks good.
Keep an eye on the tranny and the dash electronics, namely the heater.
3.5 HO?
moms got a 03 intrepid with the 3.5ho it will scoot.
Nice ride but i hate to tell ya this....those are not the 300special rims.
The special had 18in silver "special" wheels with low pro's,only came on the 300 special, pretty rare rims, nice too.
They probably got the car form an auction and somebody swapped the rims or cust bought the regular 300 wheels for reason or another.
The auction sounds more plausable.
I would go back and complain that you did not get the correct rims for that car
Pics of the 18x7.5 that should be on it.
I wondered if anyone would catch that. When I was researching the car last night I discovered the rim thing. I thought it seemed odd that the original owner would've chosen the optional chrome 17's over the 18" standard wheels. It would've been nice to have the stockers but I'm cool with the chrome 17's. I'm kind of glad that the 17's are on it because of the price of tires. The 18's came with 245's on them.
If the car was destined to be a collector item it would matter but since 300 entusiasts are probably smaller in number than even us Fox cat/bird crowd it's really no biggie not having the correct rims.
Nice observation though... How did you know?
I spanked one with my T-bird last night and my timing is only at 10*;)
They are nice cars though. I'd like to have one for a daily driver.
Gee, I wonder why.... Heheh...
That is a nice car. I actually like the styling of the older ones better than the new ones. Congrats on the purchase.
Work for chrysler as a mechanic and i remember when those cars came in new a few years back.
Have you had to work on many of them? If so, what do they normally come in for?
Got the Wife a triple black fully loaded one about 2 years ago for $2500 through work. Frign love that car and I want a Special eition with the 18's so bad!!!! Great Buy!!!!
Don't get to many in anymore.
Common problems were:
Battery positives get very corroded due to the batt being in front of the pass front tire.
Cat convertors(starting to become a problem now that there older)
window regulators(get weak and stop working)
Rear swaybar links(bushings crack and break apart)
Power steering racks(quite common, get noisy when turning or over bumps)
Transmission cooler lines leak
Oil pan gaskets.
I think that's about it,usually the engines and trans are quite reliable.
