Title: 88 turbocoupe
Post by: turb0coupe88 on April 26, 2007, 10:30:44 PM
(http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g146/84_318i/DSC00005-7.jpg)

Thats the only pic I have of it now.
140k miles, 5 speed

Since I'm new I'll introduce myself while I'm at it. My name is Evan, I'm 16 years old, and I live in Ga. This is not my first car, but I love it. I can remember riding in these with my dad when I was 3 and 4 years old and just had to get this when the opportunity came up. Pretty much just doing little things like cone filter, exhaust, gillis valve, etc.
All tips are welcome!
Hope everyone likes...

Thanks, I was thinkin about painting the wheels a dark gunmetal color. I can't get the dull off of them, so it's very tempting. What do yall think?

Personally I do no like dark wheels on a dark car.  I would just refinish the wheels completely.

You could try this (http://"http://www.foxthundercats.com/samscars.htm"). Or you could sand them start with 400 grit(or 240 if they are really bad) and gradually use higher grit sandpaper and then polishing them. It is time consuming but it works great.

A good tip if you do sand them, use paint stripper to strip the clearcoat if they are cleared. It makes it go alot faster than if you have to sand the clear off.
