How many turns do you have now?
20:1 = almost 3
15:1 = just over 2

You'll need:

-Correct P/S Pump and Rack (make sure they're both of the same ratio! Chuck can elaborate)
-To be safe get new hoses and new fluid to fill it with
-Also may want to get new tie-rod ends
-Hell with it, get new bushings, too.

I just put in the sport rack & pinion.  I didn't have to mess with the pump or hoses at all.  But mine was a 85 bird.  ???  I put on the new tie-rod ends, end links, and sway bar at the same time.  Made for much nicer steering.

Me too, 3 years ago. Rack, inner & outer tierods. Kept the original "slow" pump. Works fine.

Man... Chuck?  Where you at?  I could've sworn he said something about matching the pump.  Maybe it's only that you can't use a fast pump with a slow rack.  Hmm, now I'm thinking.

Well guys the pump i already have it its from a 95 mustang gt so the sport rack and pinion is 15:1? Also if I already have the pump will it hurt it If I install it seeing that this one is newer than the one it has now thanks guys lmk.
