Title: what if the MSD stops workin?
Post by: Dookie86 on January 24, 2005, 09:27:00 PM
just a thought that popped in my head during class today.  who really wants to learn about psycology and how u shouldnt yell at your prebubescent child if u catch him... you know...  :dunno:

say u have a MSD hooked up (like i do) and it stops workin.  can the engine still run?  i was thinkin sence i got my MSD used, the guy who put it in said these things go out all the time.  (this was a few years ago).  so i was thinkin, last year it was tested, and it ran perfect, but what about now?

just curious, thanks!

Dead MSD= Unhook it and drive away... Hopefully you have the Ford wire harness and you didn't hack it all up...

I took mine out a couple of years ago and it felt like the car ran stronger... go figure..

yea i still have the harness, just have to pull the msd thing, and plug in the original.  and its conviently packed near it under that plastic ! woo!

i also have this some sort of harness that mechanics say are very rare to find.  the tech said sometimes the 302's will stall out for no apparents reason, and if it does it consistantly, plug this is.  its a harness, and plugs in the distributor, and the other end plugs into the harness that originally was in teh distributor.  get it?  cuz i wouldnt  :flip:
