1/16" toe in is nice.

You don't really want toe-out unless you're autocrsossing.

You can do a ghetto garage alignment with nothing but a plumb-bob, paper, pencil, tape measure, newspaper, and wrench.

Drive the front wheels onto some newspaper. The paper allows the wheels to turn freely when you adjust it without binding. Crazy, but it works. Next, tape some paper in front of and behind each wheel. Now use a reference point on each tire (a channel in the center) and drop a plumb bob to the paper and mark it for each side of each tire. The difference between the front and rear measurement is the toe. Toe-in if the front being narrower than the rear. Toe-out is the front being wider than the rear. Once you have an initial measurement, repeat the process until you are at the desired toe.

For 1985 (and I would guess this is the same/similar for all cars),

Minimum toe: 1/16" in
Nominal toe: 3/16" in
Maximum toe: 5/16" in
