What a week of weather! Two major snowstorms with another on the way, a late week deep freeze, and no end in sight (long range forecasts show more goodies late next week). I can only say I'm VERY glad I bought that 4WD Dakota last Saturday! A summary of the week of Jan 16-22, 2005:
- Sunday, Jan 16: nearly 40CM of snow (16") and 90km/hr wind
- Wednesday, Jan 19: 21CM (8") of snow and 70km/hr wind
- Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Jan 20-22: temperatures in the -20 to -25 range with windchills into the -40's
- Now, our forecast for tomorrow: 25-35 cm, 100km/hr wind, and more snow on Monday.
i'll trade you carm it has been a hi of -23 with a wind chill of -32 here for the past week and half.now monday it is going to +5 and rain and back down to -18 with -29 wind chill on tue.cars need ice blade to move round here
At the moment here in toledo we are on our way to getting about 8-10 inches. I would say that at the moment its at about 6-7 right now and ts not looking like its gonna let up.
We've been having crazy weather all year too. Last week 8" - 12" snow, then a week of arctic temps. (-35 to -45 ), then, yesterday, it warms up and what do you know, a blizzard. Blowing snow everywhere, roads closed because they are impassible.
Going back a while, on new years eve we had a two feet of snow, and then a foot the week after that.
However it is suppost to hit -6 Tomorow :)

BWAH HAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!!!
i hate you
couple days ago we had a record high...66ºF. Before that the record was 59º in 1919. Currently holding in the 50's. I miss snow :(
and this is in Washington...not exactly a high temperature area
Got my T Bird stuck (almost) in the middle of my plowed street! The Michelin X-one tires that are on it, they go good in dry, rain & ice, but not snow! I had to use my company van (AWD Safari) to drag it back into my driveway! And in August, we'll be complaining about the heat!
It is unusually cold here in Boston as well, with snow right now. We are expecting 8-12". I hate it when it is too cold to even venture outside. I much prefer summertime.
what station are you watching that u heard that, every estimate I've heard today has been like 20"-36"
70 and coastal flood warning here. Any moment now I should be hit by one of Crystal's wrenches flying through the air..
Would I ever do such a thing? :screwy: :dunno: :brick:
Erm, yes? :p
Yeah, I'm way too predictable sometimes... :grinno:
So I wonder how long I'll be snowed in for...
Well, heres my contribution:
Weather for Samarra, Iraq:
High of 53, Low of 20......Rain and Clouds
We just got one hell of a 4 day rainstorm, and its all gonna freeze....I cant wait to drive my Humvee Tommarow!! It might snow here too.. hahah It figures, We Wisconsin people cant get away from the snow wherever we go!!
The last 3 days here were in the 70's,today we're in the 50's.Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Your luck I cannot throw a wrench that far.
Truthfully, I love living here. Think of all the things your are missing, snowmobileing, ice fishing, skiing, snowboarding, pulling stupid drivers out of the ditch, driving 104500 lbs on top of a frozen lake, did I mension snowmobiling?. And we don't stop these activities when the weather hits -40, we just keep the beer under the hood of the snowmobile so it don;t freeez. :giggle:
That remindes me, did anyone see last weeks simpsons? The simpsons come to Canada so Abe (grandpa) can take advantage of cheeper drug costs. When the simpsons pull into Winnipeg (the capital of Manitoba) the welcome sign reads
"We were born here! Whats your excuse?"
Another funny line was "we'll sell you enough drugs to make Regina seen like Saskatoon!" (I guess its only funny if you live here)
That's the storm we're getting tomorrow and Monday. We get a lot of Boston TV stations, so we usually have good advance warning of what the weater gods have in store for us. Whatever it is doing here today, it was doing yesterday in Boston. Now they're saying upwards of 40CM (16") by tomorrow midnight, and it's supposed to snow right through Monday! With 100km/hr (60MPH) wind! And this on top of the 24" we've already received this week in the previous two storms!
It's still no White Juan (the storm that gave us 38" over 24 hours last February), but if they keep upping the forecast it just may well turn into one...
Thankfully the Demon is in the garage
well, it appears no more snow for us here in MD, leveled off at about 6-7", we supposed to get 8-12
Gonna be +4 - +10 Degrees Celcius around here in Calgary for the next few days :)
Global warming??? This recent visitor to an oil rig off the Louisiana coast says not.

we did not get much, only about 6 inches. Very cold outside but good snowboarding snow. My poor chickens are freaking out!!
i have my knee wrapped now from my snowboard jump i did earlier when i came down on a big ass rock.
Still snowing here - I can reach out my back window and touch the snow drift. And it's a split entry house, so the window is 8 feet off the ground...
