Title: "Talking" system sentry
Post by: stuntmannick on April 04, 2007, 04:52:50 PM
I think I remember reading about a "talking" system sentry in the earlier (~'83) fully loaded Tbirds.  Does anyone have any sort of information about this?

Sorry, been a way for a couple of days. The talking part of it is three things that really have nothing to do with what I consider the systems sentry. What it does say is. I have it in my '83 Heritage

1. "The key is in the ignition."
2. The headlights are on."
3. "The door is ajar."

I think its pretty cool.

I remember back in the days when I was younger one of my friends parents had a bird like that. I remember making fun of it. The door isn't a jar it is a door.  talking car thinks its so smart. LOL

My sister had an early 80's Daytona that talked. I can remember once we were trying to get it started, and every failed attempt it would say "Your engine oil pressure is low. Prompt service is required."

Dad's '86 Dodge Lancer Turbo  **"a door is ajar"**

That used to freak me out.
