Are the body kits an add on to the stock bumper cover or is it a whole new cover? If it is an add on where does it attach? Pics would be great.
My guess is that it is add on and it attaches just below the moulding. Am i right?
Just trying to figure a few things out before I order any parts and i am wanting to get some work done on my car.
Thanks,
Andrew
Which body kit are you getting?
My GST kit is epoxied to the original bumper cover and has 2 screws on each side attaching it in the fender well.
Actually i was thinking about trying to make something out of fiberglass before I buy a kit It should be fun, or atleast funny, to see the outcome. But if that doesnt work or i decide to give up i will probably get the this kit (http://"http://www.wickedbodies.net/83-90-Tbird.htm") cause apparently that is the only kit available anyway.
A while back, JCWhitney sold a kit. Not sure if they still sell it, but it was actually a pretty cool looking one.
Yeah i think it was/is the kobel/McK kit. But the years they put on the description was weird i think it said 89 or something. They dont seem to have anything on the online store for any thunderbirds older than 89.
Now that i have looked around i found an interesting bit of information from a Beretta forum.
I want a body kit like on Kyle's 83. That would look just right on a freshly painted Fila...

http://www.foxtbirdcougarforums.com/showthread.php?t=12191 (http://"http://www.foxtbirdcougarforums.com/showthread.php?t=12191") That's the link for the write up on my body kit and paint job. It is attached the bumper itself. Things are much easier that way.
the body kit i got for my 85 bird i got off of e-bay for $150.00 plus shipping is held on by 3m doulble sided tape and small L-brackets it is made out of a rubber type material and the guy on e-bay said that it was a ford part - who every made it, it took about 2 hours to mount had them on for about 2 years now with no problems and made my bird go from a " plain jane " bird to one mean looking bird i would send pics but i have trouble sending pics over the net i hope t solve that problem soon
