87 3.8 bird rear end size not sure want 5 kugs now need right size??? help plase
Slow down son! Re read what you posted.. Not a bit of it makes any sense!
You've got a 7.5" in that sweet ride. That don't help none though. You want some axles from a 94-98 'Tang. Make sure they don't have the ABS rings.
well i figured that some one would anwser and let me know least i was hoping. what size rear end would it b from a stang for those years and would it bolt right up
Claude would know!
that would be who lol
The v6 stang bangers would have the 7.5 and its axles would fit fine. Aside from the brakes the stang rear would bolt in without a hitch.
from a 94 to 98 stang rear end bolt right up and what size is it
so a 7.5 rear with 5 lug will work for my 87 bird
i am confused
That makes 3 of us.
ok here what i am trying to do make my 87 tbird with a v6 4 bolt to a 5 bolt
*BUZZ*!!!!!!
Try again.
86-88 Tbird/Cougar 7.5's will not work with the Mustang axles....
You can swap the entire rear axle assy from the SN-95 Mustang, brakes, housing and all if you like and have the same width axle to axle , but the axles alone will not swap into the wider 87 7.5 housing.
i understand know thanks
just get a rear axle assy from sn-95 stang and bolt it up
That is news to me.
Bearing areas don't match up?
maybe i dont get it hell i dont know
IIRC that's one of the issues covered in the threads that touched on this whole issue. The 3/4" may not be an problem, but most likely it is.
The 86-88 Tbird 7.5 housing are wider....and thus the bearings are in a different spot than the others.
willywags....there is a search feature on this board.....it works....
I thought that the axle housing of the sn95 was the same width as the 86-88. Infact i slid my sn95 axles into my old 88 housing and they seem to fit fine...
ERER I ARE CORNFUSED..
shiznit, I JUST REALISED that your right in my backyard. Sorry,
/end spaz attack
not far from ya
Nope....the 86-88 Tbird 7.5 housings are 3/4" wider per side than the Mustang and early Tbird 7.5's and the 8.8's.
The axles will slide in....
Understand what Cluade?
ok
So the fox stang and sn95 housing is the same?
LOOK HERE (http://www.foxtbirdcougarforums.com/showpost.php?p=33775&postcount=1)
Yes, the 79-98 Mustang 7.5 and 8.8, the 83-85Tbird 7.5 and 87-88TC 8.8 housings are all the same width...
The 86-88 Tbird/Cougar 7.5's are wider....
so dropping a ho 302 in and and tranny th axle will need changed right
since i want 5 lug
so my sn95 axles will fit my 83's rear end.. Excellent.
Yup. That's what I used in my 84.
What year axles?
so 8.8 28 spline axle will fit
what about an 85 linclon cont rearend in my 87bird
