ok this is gonna be hard to do but i rather see parts go to use. than just be crushed.
im in New Jersey Car is a 1988 cougar 3.8.
front end is toast as for lights and such. tail lights are modifiyed for sequential's
i have all the trunk liners and stuff. Grey cloth interior. two sets of door pannles extra set of door windows. Extra windo motors switches and anything else you guys think of that you need. i have a full console grey. top half is painted black. and the radio trim (not painted was my extra b4 car was broken into. let me know
shoot me a price and i'll let you know. oh and i have a 3.73 t-loc unit for the 7.5 rear if you want it let me know. other wize it's gonna be crushed or gone with the car.
i have a double hump crossmember out of a mustang and if i take the tranny then thats coming with it . and i have two instument clusters and one V8 sports cluster. digitals are about 140,xxx
v8 is set to 0.
i have a v8 wiring harness .
Wish I could get my hands on that '88 V6 for an experiment.. but I don't have enough cash to buy it and come up there and get it. (you're probably about 1200 miles away.. and I don't even have a small trailer to put an engine on.. or a roadworthy truck to haul it in)
Some other guy was offering an '88 V6 on here, but some smart-ass comments from other users seems to have chased him off. Honestly, I wouldn't mind experimenting with a SEFI V6 swap into my '86 V6 (CFI) Bird, once the V8 Bird is roadworthy again. Just don't have the resources to chase an '88 V6 down.
where in jersey are ya? im south, near philly depending on the price, i might be interested in the sport cluster, buttstuffog
Hey Im interested in some interior parts and would be able to come down and grab em and give you your asking price in person. Really interested in dash (looking for one without cracks, mine has ONE !@#$$#& CRACK ABOUT 4 INCHES LONG)
the cluster is just sitting so i guess 40 bucks. im up in middleshag county. 08902 north brunswick
what interior peices do you want. i'll let you know now that the dash is cracked bad and should have said so i forgot.
Well all my faceplates and consoles are wood grain (Yuck). I'm looking for that brushed metal look. Which do you have?
i have the tc grain but the big one is painted black around it and has a hole in it from the alarm. and i have a radio trim that is untouched.
but sorry guys im gonna have to hold of on the parts for a while i just got a bogus report in the mail from the insurance company claimng how stuff is bad that isnt so i have have to keep the car together for a bit longer . i'll keep ya posted not till monday. i thought this was done!!! sorry again
Does this mean no TC spindles for me? :raspberry to insurance companies!
well it will just take longer . i dont want to get riped off you know and i dont want to take some stuff off and then have them say well bla bla bla yada yada yada. were god and ur an aint that we will step on take or offer or nothing. you know how this goes. i just wish this never happened.
Not to worry, I'm not in a huury. The T-Bird is covered by two feet of snow right now and another foot or more is expected to fall on Sunday. The poor thing won't be going anywhere soon, just remember that I'm interested. If that 3.73 traction-lock 7.5" diff is complete (ring, pinion and differential carrier) I may be interested in that as well.
No rush here. And yes insurance companies are the DEVIL, Bobby Bouche! Television is the devil too!
Hey man sorry to hear about your car its a shame that was a awsome cat. Well I will take the double hump crossmember and window switches when you decide to part it out thanks man lmk.
ok guys thanks for understanding. TC. the 3.73 is complete. R&p and the big part where the axles go in and the c clips hold them in. oh my bad is that the carier.
the double hum is only coming out if the tranny comes out and im not 100% on that yet bc im going to have no place for it due to the 5.0 thats going to be in it's place in the garage. and i dont think moms is gonna want the tranny hanging out in the open.
i just wish i didnt have to part it and could have a place to keep the car and get it fixed. if it would ever be insured again
Yeah, the thing the ring gear bolts to is the carrier. That's what i need, as it would make it unneccesary for me to try to find a TC rear (I have no use for an 8.8, my plans include nothing more radical than an HO and possibly T-5 swap and a 7.5 should hold up to that combo).
lol. the 7.5 is good enough for that. i will have some e7's laying around but not sure what they are gonna do bc i have some gt-40's
hows that go now?
i was working with a friend and his mustang rear end was jacked up. I turned one wheel in the rear and the other did not move at all. Its a 7.5 but is that called limited slip or is it trac loc?
Limited slip and traction lock are the same thing. Traction lock is Ford's brand name for it, just like Chevy uses "Posi Track" and Chrysler uses "Sure Grip". It's all "limited slip". There are different types of limited slip - Ford uses clutch plates, GM uses a spring loaded thingy (in their trucks, anyway) and Chrysler uses cone clutches. I think the last F-bodies used a torsen limited slip, which uses some kind of screw thingy.
With your buddy's Mustang, if you turned one wheel while the other didn't turn, it's either got an open rear end or a very worn out limited slip. The driveshaft would've been turning, though...
The limited slip that GM uses in their trucks will allow one wheel to spin while the other stays put up to a certain RPM. When that RPM is exceeded centrifugal force will activate the spring loaded mechanism that pops out and essentially locks the two axles together. Very, very brittle (I've fixed countless ones).
How much for the rear bumper cover and front passenger side panel?
The junkyard wants $35 for a bumper cover and probably 50-70 for a side panel, thats a bit too much for my budget. How about the exhaust too? from the precats to the tail pipe... is it single or dual exhaust?
I'm in the Somerdale/Clementon area.
well im not sure how much shipping would be for the cover and how far you are and what side pannle are you talking about. and if i do bother with the Exhaust it's going on my mustang. well the cat back anyway. it's a true dual system stock stang H and mustang catback.
on another note . i may beable to keep the car. i may have found a home for it . still on unsolid ground so im not sure .
ok guys update. i maild all this out to the insurance companies. so when i get the check in the mail i will get to take what you want . and what i want. just keeping ya posted.
oh Thunder Chicken. i tryed to put the spindals calipers in a box but the box wasnt enough. got an i dea what i should put them in. maybe smoe type of crate. but im sure a milk crate wont do. maybe shipping one at a time will work out cheaper. i havnt seen how much they weigh yet bc of the box.
I'd just wrap 'em in cardboard and duct tape. They're iron, so even the post office shouldn't be able to hurt 'em :D
ok i'll try that and see if they take it. but maybe not duck tape maybe packing tape
Hey, How good of shape are the seats?? and does it have a dual power seat console?? if so how much you want for em?
