Title: seat belt conector

well, my seat belt wont stay fastened. the button just stayes down like someone is pressing it down. can anybody help me fix this?

Try spraying some WD-40 inside the mechanism. If that doesn't help, most likely the metal spring is shot and you need to replace the whole thing.

My '87 Sport had the broken spring problem. I took the buckle apart and used the spring out of the center rear buckle to fix it (thus making the car a four seater)

My 88 has this issue as well.  for a temporary make yourself feal kinda safe fix.  I flip the buckle over so the button comes out due to gravity.  Then i buckle it and pull it tight.

I have this problem and I need to get it fixed immediately...

how do  you get hte buckle apart??
