Title: long tube headers help??
Post by: bak24 on January 20, 2005, 12:54:51 PM
I am driving a 88 turbo coupe, that will soon be a ThunderCoupe. I am finishing a 5.0 that has a 280deg comp cam, .030 over, ported intake and exhaust, flat top 10:1 pistons, and smaller chamber heads with large valves and a 600 cfm carb.

I want long tube headers to take advantage of low end torque better.
I have a set of MAC long tubes for 87-93 mustangs. Seeing that the car has a T-5, I think the steering shaft will be the only problem, maybe? Has anyone made similar modifications to fit long tube headers on their 83-88 5.0 Bird???

Any help would be much obliged. and pics would be even better.

What brand are thoes? And was your engine stock? Im taking a set of Headman headers and making them slip-fit. Im having a hard time fitting long tubes on the passengers side.

CARBED, aw man you shoulda went sefi man.
Headers should work with little to no modification, maybe a little massaging with a hammer around the steering shaft.
