has anyone used the Casper's Electronics throttle enhancer?Does it really work as it should? It plugs in between the TPS and the TPS harness.it's supposed to send an enhanced mesage to the computer to advance timing (?) when under WOT.
Enhanced message? First of all, that signal should be between approximately 1 volt minimum, and 5 volts maximum, with idle around .95 volts. IF you have .95 at idle, and 4.95 or there abouts at WOT, how are you going to enhance that any more? The only thing I can think of it doing would be introducing some lead on the circuit so that it dumps a little more fuel and boosts the timing a little more for faster throttle response. Probably will totally kill any efficiency you have.
Is that the thing that tells the computer you're at full throttle whenever you're at 60% throttle or more?
I've seen those, sounds like a waste of money to me.
Yeah, I actually bought one for my 2.3 Ranger. It does advance the timing at around 3/4 throttle. And yes they are a waste of money. Just advance your base timing and get the same results ALL the time.
I saw one in a Summit catalog, made by "Casper Electronics'.I was curious about that.Well,I'm off to swap my tranny (oh joy).I'll be back later.
have fun bud :punchballs: :toilet:
