I don't think I've shown you guys this yet... Before we get started, it's technically my dad's, we restored it along with a friend of ours. Yep, it's an "R" code. It came with the 428 SUPER Cobra Jet which means it had a factory oil cooler and some other little stuff. It's also a Drag Pack car, giving it Staggered Rear Shocks. It also came with dealer installed Magnum 500's, Boss 302 Louvers, and Shelby center console. 49,000 Miles. Before and after pics of the restoration follow.

beautiful!!!!!!!
That is gorgeous. My uncle had a '69 Mach 1 that he bought new and eventually totaled. It was just a 351 though.
Holy bacon. That is a stunning example of a Mustang.
WHAT!!?? NOT A FOX!!?? Nope, not worth anything!
Hah, just kidding. Thats one amazing machine. Absolutely awesome.
ask them if they wanna do mine for me!
Wow, that's awesome! I bet that thing would fetch a kings ransom at Barrett-Jackson.
I'd never sell it if it were mine though...
Now that we are talking Cobra Jets, here is our 70 "Q-code"Mustang. My dad bought it in 1974-5 with no motor or trans. It was owned by Ford Motor Company of Canada and used along with 3 other cars to hold drag clinics at dealerships and race national events on the weekend. In the winter of 70/71 Ford cut the funding and sold everything, and at that time a local racer bought it as a turn-key Super Stocker and raced the great lakes area for a few years before using the motor/trans in a 69 Convert. When my dad heard about it being For-Sale he bought it right away being the car only seen 3 miles of driving before being built so it was still like new. At the time he had 69 Mach that he used to get the car running and has only put about 2000 miles on it 32 years.

You ppl and your fancy cars.
Nice work. :D
That Mach is the reason I love Mustangs. Up until I inherited my Cougar, I collected models, pics everything of them. That Cougar Convt. is gonna be Awesome, I want!!!
got to love the old cougars, ill have to get some pics of my buddys parents. that convt is gonna be SWEEEEET
My 69 Stang I owned when I was 16. Notice the 88 Cougar I own now in the background when it was brand new and owned by my parents. That model Mustang is a head turner, I was having people wanting to buy it from me every where I went. The restoration job in this thread is beautiful, almost brings tears to my eyes.
That's pretty much my dream mustang. 69' with the SCJ with the Drag Pack. Oi, man that is a gorgeous ride. Great job on the resto.
Sweet Stang... No doubt in my mind, the '69-'70 Mach 1 is the ultimate Mustang...
But to correct a few minor details... Staggered Shocks came std with 4-spd, Drag Pack option or not... Also the Drag Pack option included the SCJ engine, oil cooler, and 3.91 or 4.30 gears... The SCJ engine was not available without the Drag Pack... Ram Air option made it a "R" code, SCJs were available on non-Ram Air "Q" code models as well...
My '69 Fairlane Cobra is a std CJ "R" code and has the staggered shocks due to it being a 4 speed...(Pic in Sig link)
