Average condition. 'nuff said.
Holy cow! I'm gonna list a set or seven now :P
I can understand the inner markers...seeing as theyre 87-88 TC only...but the corner lights? Idiots.
Look like they've all been wet sanded and polished a bit.
If people are going to pay that much for those things after the seller puts a small amount of elbow grease into them, I'm hitting the junkyard this afternoon. :hick:
holy shiznit, i just found out how to fund my mustang, sell my thunderbird parts, anyone know any other parts fetching big dollars? and of course ill sell stuff cheap to you guys if you need it. I should take a list of stuff to get when i go down this summer.
I been seeing that high bidder a lot lately,He's the one that won the switch panel. He's going to have one exspensive car at that rate.
*evil laugh* not a bad idea!!!!

And you have a guy that likes car #1 far better then car #2.
Hey Mike I think he sold the 2nd car.Check his name maybe "REBUYER",lots of action for a 8 ref, but the tc didn't seem bad!
It's offical. This car has become too popular for me to own. :D
THATS WHO GOT THAT T/C i wanted my dad to get that white one!!!
The lights look no different than any other used set I've used. The inners look like the ones on my car (I did manage to get one inner in PERFECT/like NOS condition for free, just need a matching one before install). I've cleaned up corners much clearer than those, and the entire clear light set went for only $177.
Of course, I've had to put upgrades/replacements on hold until I get a decent paying job, which may be sooner than later. Need a daily driver also so I can repaint this thing a second time.
Hell...look at my lights in my "bumper installed pics" thread in body/appearance. I sanded all my lights with 800 grit, then 1500 grit, then polished them out with Turtle Wax polishing compound. The things almost look brand new. Now granted I did spend several hours on them (wears out your arm!) but it sure as hell didn't cost me $300+ to buy all new ones like that guy did.
I only have the set on my car,but I'll sell them for 4150.00 in a heartbeat. The inner lights aren't that hard to find.
im taking the lights off the black car and anything else now and making them look good, and selling them like that, what else sells good lol
I need the black door panels if they are in good shape. You'd better start that thread in the "for sale" section.
it is getting a bit stupid..........

guess these things are getting popular
to bad my taillights broke
That's it, I'm gonna flood the market tomorrow.
Didn't you just get rid of everything? Good timing :p
I wish someone would post some decent door panels for sale at a good price. There's one guy selling them, but he won't ship them.
Does it matter what color they are? I have a set or red ones I could ship. The arm rests are messed up a little but I could get pics.
*Eye begins twitching*
Must have perfect mats!!!!!!!!!!!
Eh...I wouldn't say they're getting popular....
More like, nobody repops the lights (except the headlights apparently).
And it seems that people are willing to pay an exorbitant amount for something that someone else spent a couple hours cleaning up.
On the subject, why does it seem like so many '87-88 birds have the outside plastic cover on the taillight busted?
$150 for a taillight?
That's nothing. Look at all the time put into restoring it. Finding a set of good seals alone is next to impossible. More power to the guy selling it...that was a lot of elbow grease to shape that thing up. If an outstanding used piece can command NOS prices, I'd say he did his job exquisitely.
It does seem that TC owners are jumping all over things, though.
Might be time for me to dump some NOS TC parts... ;)
Bah, I don't think he put THAT much work into it. Probably the most effort was polishing the lens, I know mine are kinda scratched up.
I cleaned my lights up recently, took them apart and all they really needed was a good cleanup on the inside with soap & water, then I put them back together & sealed em up with silicone. Granted they don't look quite as perfect as that light does but I didn't feel like spending forever on them, had I taken a buffing wheel to the lens I'm sure it would have looked just as nice as that one.
My opinion is that if I had a busted tail light and couldn't find one locally I'd be happy to pay $150 rather than drive around with red tape over my lights (which I did for a couple months a few years back). Some of these parts are getting pretty hard to find in good shape.
Michael was and/or is still looking to reproduce the lenses. Of course, a lens set would cost a couple hundred minimum, as its not cheap to make something in relatively small quantities. A rigid mold needs to be made before anything, and preferably it'd be metal.
I have a pair of taillights now that I spent days cleaning up. Polished every square centimeter of the inner and outer lenses multiple times with 3 different materials/coarseness to get all the dirt and factory defects out. Just need to go over them one more time in the more difficult crevices and seal them up with many tubes of silicone to get them airtight between lenses. Now I'm afraid of putting them on my car as they'd probably fetch $500 on ebay. Thinking I should hold off until I can garage the car permanently.
What I'm wondering, seeing as it seems to be the same person bidding up all these items, is if the sellers are actually getting paid for 'em...
Exactly the 8*,Or he got alot of cash, and or credit.
the taillights get brittle, my dads new 88 he bought, before we dropped the motor in we had to push it into the garage, he accidentally put a little pressure to push on the tali light stuck his palm right through it. Vin the panels are black and blue are those the ones you mean? can you wait till april from them? thats when im going down and grabbing all the parts i can
