I see my original TRX Wheel thread expired.
Update: I got the valve stem holes filled in by a welder who Tig welded them. Made a noticable difference!
I also found a set of 16 inch wheels and had two more centers machined to fit inside.
I will be running 16 x 8 on the front and 17 x 8 on the rear with M&H 325-45-17 Drag Radials while retaining the look of real TRXs.

For those that missed it the first time that I posted the polished TRX pics then here is some more.
These are 17 x 8 with a 255-45-17 Tire.:D

They don't "expire"...change the date parameters at the bottom of the forum and you will find your original ;)
Thanks Chuck.
Are you thinking of doing this as a project for you or like chuck, doing th ework for other members. I have a set of TRX's in my garrage I'm willing ot donate if put to good use:beatyoass: . Even test them on mine if the mod is done to them:D
I have not gotten to the road test portion of the experiment.
My theory is that the centers are almost perfectly balanced so vibration at speed should not be a problem.
However, as we all know, some thing don't always work out as planned.
As far as making them for others, I dunno. I have my hands full with starting a new racing series right now so I will be getting busy starting next week.:birdsmily:
Sounds good. Let me know if ya need anything
You're going to stuff a 325 on an 8" wide wheel??? Most guys have a difficult time getting a 315 on a 9".....
Could you post a pic of the back of one of them please?
Very nice!!! I love modified factory pieces. The look of factory, but just a little different.Sweeeeeet !!!
The only 325-45-17 out there that will fit an 8 inch wheel is the M&H Drag Radial because as I found out after I bought my 275-55-16 M&Hs on the car now, their tires are not as wide as BFG or M/T. ( even tho the sidewall designation is the same)
That 275 -55-16 is small compared to my 8 year old 275-60-15 M&Hs.
In fact, "John" at M&H told me that a 8 inch is perfect for their 325-17 DR.
My 275-55-16 looks as big as a BFG 255-50-16 in width. The good news is that any of you guys that want to run 28 in. tall drag radials on 7 in wheels and do not want to cut your fenderwells in any way, these tires are for you.
I will have to trim my fenderlips for the 325s tho.
I'll post pics when I get the 325s.
thats pretty cool, looks good.
Hey fordguy: this pic is for you.
Sold this car in Nov. 2004.
I built it with a 460 C6 8.8 (weighed 3100 lbs with cast iron exhaust, intake, and water pump.
Loved it but had to get rid of it because of rust-out.
I bought the car 3 times. Thus the "BOOMERANG" name.
Won alot of races with it.
what is it?
nice! what did it run? my mont has a little 302 for now, going to get a stroker as soon as funds allow.
the fox that started it all, the fairmont.
I was thinking fairlane, i was close
79 Fairmont
With the trans shifting at 4000 (because if it went any higher, I would get back to the pits and the engine would be "ticking" very loud and very embarrassing) I ran a 8.7 at 80 mph.
Engine was a py 75 LTD smogger but it was consistent.
Can't run too quick with a 4000 rpm low compression engine.:D
