Mailman was GOOD to me yesterday! Got the 46# injectors (Happy now Bob??) and a box from ARP. The washers ARP includes in the head stud kits are too small and the "dig" into the head causing a reduction in torque. We're working on washers that take up the entire hole.
In other news, I traced the non-idle to the Taylor plug wires. I don't know if it's a bad set or I just didn't get ones with enough RFI suppresion. I swapped them onto the Primer TC and it suddenly wouldn't idle. Took em back off for Motorcrafts and it idle'd fine. Anybody else ever have that issue? How are the MSD wire sets?
And finally, weight savings. I'm down to 228 (from 241) 5 weeks into my gym membership. GOing to get down to 208ish, that oughta help a little :D
Today sees Summit, Esslinger, and NAPA orders (*should* be the last of the parts ordering). If it stops raining I'll even work on the car!
Cheers for the mailman!
He brought me some too. :D
Hey, did you check on them lines?
:pics-stfu:
Glad to hear you're making progress.Feels good doesn't it?I went to the boneyard today, the red interior from the Silver TC was gone.Someone took it all.Sorry,Man.I did get a header panel, lighted Cougar sail panel emblem,tripminder,2 sets of fog light brackets, and a few other bits and pieces.
The mailman hate Me maybe, I sent a money order of 141.34 the TWO of this month, and the ebay seller have not received yet, and I NEED MY TC BUMPER COVER!!!!!!:beatyoass: .
Another money order was sent the same Day (50$) for a floor shifter, and the guy not received yet too...
I'm ed:evilgrin: .
I'm kidding a bit, but it's not funny, My existing stang shifter is pulled of the Bird, and the bumper cover is completely unbolted, If I never receive the stuff, I'll lost My money, and reinstall all the same stuff, OHHHH !!!!...
S'cuse Me, My 2 cents...
HAve a nice Day,
Regards,
Dom.
Can't wait to see it done!
Thank goodness, I can sleep now ;) What are you going to tune them with?
BTW- How many times does it need to be said, here I will type it slowly so you can read it - M O T O R C R A F T
Why would you mess with any other wires when the ones that work are like $25.00 from rockauto.com?
Bob Myers
One thing ive learned over the years ive been around cars, fords love motocraft parts, and usually hate anything else. My dads old f250 460, after a oil change if you used anything but motocraft filters it would backfire and miss after a few hundred miles it was odd.
Taking bets on how quickly Bob has a heart attack when I order the Motorcraft wires :hick:
Tuning, what tuning? I'm going to put them in and pray until the TwEECer shows up. Oh wait, that tunes :D
Keep us posted. I want to see what she'll run:birdsmily:
I waiting to start my GT-40 HO swap in two weeks. I have a pile of parts in my room for the install (gaskets, motor mounts, plugs, fuel pump, ect.) and I can't wait to install them.
Made some GOOD progress today :D
Got the SC50 out and the exhaust off. The MaxPSI drain line was "kinked". I'm going to talk to them about adding some additional length for the SC/T04/Holset guys that sit "further" away then the standard T3. I've included a pic of a stock IHI next to the SC to give you an idea just how BIG it is.:beatyoass:
I cleaned everything up a bit and installed my Chuck W mount on the passenger side, man is it nice! Check the absolutely 100% rust free shock towers :D
I did develop a trunk leak out of nowhere though and I have surface stuff BAD in the truck. I took the mat out and drilled a drain hole. I'll have to get in there with a wire wheel again and POR-15 the floor this time.
Also ordered an Esslinger valve cover. :D I've decided to relocate the overflow tank to in front of the radiator support. (Wasn't there a factory one up there on the V6 Birds ore something??) The reason for that is to mount the oil catch can in the braket that has the overflow on it now. Sure makes the oil lines a LOT shorter.
I have a loooong list of things left though and I had to add some more today  Still, at least I'm actually WORKING on the car and getting it closer to running. 1st points race is the end of March (also Spring Break) and intend on being there with Layla. I had to work on her today in the hail! The things I do for this car...
:punchballs: :birdsmily:
More pics
looks good man, how much power you looking for out of that?
BTW, the decals on the 1/4 window are the only ones on the car. Should I leave them or swap in a blank window for the "stealth" look?
Looking at 400 crank HP ~425 crank TQ. BEfore the nitrous and/or meth on race gas and 27psi. "Street tune" (14 psi) will be 340/380 on 92 octane. I WAS making 320ish/340ish at the crank when I took it apart at 23psi but it was going lean BAAAAD.
sounds bad ass man
Well, are they ordered yet? I knew you wouldnt. Lets get that sucker running, we are all tired of holding the money on the piston hole pool :flame: .
BTW - It sure looks to me like you kinked the oil return line tightening it without a back up wrench ;)
Bob Myers
Actually, they are :hick:
With a rotor and cap too!
I kinked the line a little loosening the fittings, but it was already "stretched". The SC's drain hole sits about 1.5" further away then a T# one. Never noticed till I stuck em side-by-side.
Might as well throw the "piston hole" bet out the window. 46#s are HERE and the TwEECer's in a UPS truck.
Get rid of the stickers.
Yeah, Ditch the decals. These cars are too classy for that kind of branding. And with that said, the big ass Pontiac banner in the pic of my car was gone moments after that pic was teken. ;)
My maxpsi line did the same thing, had to fight it on. Ended up using a stock T3 return line and all is well.
Looking good, man. I'm diggin' the progress you're making.
The motor mount looks awesome, too
Bringing FOUR complete stock heads to machine shop tomorrow for evaluation.
And the 46# CFI injectors are GOOD!
Gaskets, wires, plugs, rotor/cap are here. As soon as one head gets the "all clear" it's assembly time!
