Post by: shame302 on January 16, 2005, 01:29:30 AM
buttstuffog cluster...88 V8 sport.
usually works fine but...sometimes when i turn the headlights on the gagues go wacky. fuel bottoms out temp maxes out tack cuts in half of whatever it was reading as well as the speedo. highbeam indicater comes on with both blinker indicator (steady green). not sure what the other gagues do but i think you get the idea...so WTF is that all about? :dunno:

i posted about something like this in the old forums but cant remenber exactly what it was...i hope somebody can shed some light on this...thanks, john

First and only thing that comes to mind is the internal voltage regulator.

Even though they give lots of problems, I doubt its the IVR... I would clean the contacts on the quick disconnect plugs, sounds like a poor ground connection to me. Carefully use a pencil eraser to shine up both the plug and circuit board connectors.
