alright, today was my first actual trip to a hospital, and it was rather pointless, lemme give you the backround
for that pas 3-weeks to a month, ive had this brutal ass toothache, almost mind numbing at times, and as of recently, its been pretty nasty, itll flair up, and if i dont have something to drink, itll pretty much lay me on my ass
so last night i was coming from Dave and Busters, i was booking because i was having car problems, and just needed to get it home, and the toothache hit, i didnt have anything to drink or anything, so im trying to just ignore the pain, then my head basically gets full of pressure, my hearing is almost gone, my entire body goes tingly, my perception of depth went out the window, and i about panic, all i could do was *try* to say "just get home shawn, just get home"
well, i get home, grab water, toothache calms, im feeling better, i go eat and go to bed, and i couldnt sleep, the pain kept me up most of the night, and when i did sleep, it was short lived, well i wake up this morning, feeling very distant, i had almost no balance, i could touch things, feel the pressure, but not really feel what i was touching, i couldnt hold anything still, i couldnt read, i was lucky enough to be able to use the bathroom
i made some phone calls, my aunt takes me to the ER, after about 15 minutes, they get me in there, do the typical blood pressure, temp, asking questions, bla bla bla, then they get me to the doctor, he does the same thing, he does some tests to see if my nerological system is working proplerly, which it is at this point, they take blood, they run the blood tests, they put me through a CAT scan, hook me up to an IV of sodium chloride i believe it was, all the tests came back normal, i went through the bag they game me...and they send me home
they had no idea what happened to me, they just said "keep lots of fluid in you"......
WHAT GOOD IS A HOSPITAL WHEN THEY DONT TELL YOU shiznit?!
Well no wonder it hurts. You're not supposed to have teeth in your ass, y'know...:hick:
Carm...you got owned by the quote feature
noididn'tnoididn'tnoididn't!!! :D
I edited it before it said "last edited by"...
i knew i shoulda quoted you, lol
i also came to the conclusion, i really have IV's, i kept wanting to rip it out my arm
Sounds like you have a BAD sinus infection brewing or an impaction of a wisdom tooth/teeth. If you have a bad sinus infection, it affects your inner ear, and thus your balance can be affected and it can make you "whoosy", and the upper teeth are rooted right up to the sinus cavity. I am surprised you weren't given an antibiotic and/or a decongestant with an anti- deflamantory such as Ibuprofin or even aspirin. Do you still have your wisdom teeth? I had that occur (severe teeth pain that would come & go) and they were absessed on one side and I happened to be calling on my dentist filling his supply order, he had a cancellation and in 45 minutes I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled, fortunately they were all up and no cutting or sewing was necessary! It was fun calling on the rest of my accounts that day with bloody cotton "strings" in my mouth, at least the pain was gone!
Here is my tooth story,
At age 7 I fell off a bike and knocked out my four top front teeth. (perminant ones).
When I grew up the dentist properly crowned the teeth (yay for dental coverage!!) Then a month later one of the teeth was knocked out by a flying 1 3/16" impact socket that busted. That tooth was then recrowned. About a year and a half later a flying brake spring (from the guy working next to me) chipped one of my teeth.
I also did some dental damage stock car racing, but that was not too serious. Actually the car was a mess (rolled at 80 on a dirt oval), but I came out ok.
So yes, I am my dentists best customer. I'm only 20 and already have 7 fake teeth.
its not a wisdom tooth issue, i had a filling when i was maybe 7 or 8, and it came out, and now it seems at times the root will get exposed, or something will just irritate it, and the pain goes from my tooth, up my jaw, to my ear and side of my head, its a lower molar thats giving me the fits
as for ibuprofin, it doesnt touch the pain, acenominophen (sp), i took 1500 milligrams of it, doesnt touch it, took tylenol PM 3 hours ago to sleep...im still awake...and in pain
im definatly in need of a dentish, its just a shame that it costs do much money, i dont have any insurance at all, other than on my car, so everything is out of pocket
Wow, you sure have suffered a bit. I hope you get some relief soon.
i could definatly use it, so far this week, ive gotten a total of 8-9 hours of sleep because of this, and have still been VERY active, so my nights just drag on, laying in bed trying to sleep
Better than our ER! Gotta love that place, I go in, Bleeding, The woman at the front counter tells me to go to the ER desk. I go back there, Still bleeding! They tell me I need to go back up to the front desk and sign in! I go to the front desk, Sign the ed thing in blood, then they send me back to the ER! WTF is up with that!
One day I was delivering a pizza, I walk up the front desk, they tell me to take it back to the ER. I told the woman, "alright, but if they tell me to bring it back up here I'm gonna be pissed"! LOL!
i can relate shawn i just had my 4 wisdom teeth taken out cost me 1275$ for 45 min work.i had a 3 week migrane and if i were luck 4 hrs a night sleep.that is one of the worst feelings cause there isn't much you can do about it.
Don't dance so hard next time . . ;)
Shawn, are you getting the 'tast of death' in your mouth yet? I am about 100% sure you have a sinus infection. Same thing happened to me in 2001, when I was helping work on the convertible when it was in for bodywork and paint. Filling had gotten stuck in a piece of gum and got yanked out, and me being the cooch that I am with the dentist, I decided not to do anything. All the nerve endings were exposed for almost 18 months when it finally got to my sinuses. Dizziness was almost immediate and I hocked up stuff that is just indescribable. All that pus is hanging out in your sinus cavity and causing your dizziness. Now I'm a big fan of pus but not where I can't see it ooze out. An emergency room visit netted me a bottle of enormous antibiotic horse pills that took forever to work. After the dentist visit and eventual root cbuttstuff, I felt better and got back to normal breathing and whatnot. Definitely make an appointment ASAP with a dentist. He can at least get you a prescription for antibiotics which should kick the pain and dizziness in about a week (those suckers take forever to start working). Then you'll need dental work. So not only is your tooth hurting but soon your butthole will be too. And dentists generally don't use Vasoline. Have fun! ;)
lol...yes they do, they just put sand in it....
:laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing:
Yeah that blows. When I was a baby I had a really bad sinus and ear infection at the same time. I dont remember it, but I cant stand on one leg or walk in a straight line.
well, i sat back and thought about it, i doubt ill have a sinus infection, but its VERY possible i can get an inner ear infection, which is in many cases worse, as of right now, i can feel a bit of pressure in my lower jaw, and my ear, so it wouldnt suprise me one but
tuesday, i may be going to a dentist, and having the teeth pulled out, right about now, i can give two shiznits about how it looks, because this pain is brutal, i fell asleep at 7am because of it
Be careful. Just yanking it can cause even bigger problems later.
(copied from one site I found while researching "root cbuttstuffs")...
Why replace missing teeth?
Losing a tooth can be of social and psychological concern. Teeth are lost for a number of reasons including: dental decay, periodontal (gum) disease, and trauma (injury or accident). When a tooth is lost the neighboring teeth are affected. Because the support and chewing forces are altered the remaining teeth will begin to shift. The tooth above or below the one that was lost will begin to move up and out of it's socket and the teeth adjacent to the one that was lost will start to tilt into the space. This accelerates periodontal (gum) disease and causes further breakdown of the dental arch. If the missing tooth is not replaced, more teeth will eventually be lost, due to the improper forces exerted during chewing.
Consequences of tooth extraction
Having a missing tooth can lead to several problems such as shifting teeth, difficulty chewing, getting food stuck, malocclusion and pain in the joints. Often the dentist can repair the site with an implant, fixed bridge or denture.
You want prices on an "implant, fixed bridge or denture"?
well, to be honest with you, i already have worse problems than my teeth shifting around and shiznit
in my family, we have almost a curse when it comes to teeth, it seems that we have more teeth than we do jaw space, so they shift around, move out of line, cross over, etc. part of my pain, along with the tooth being damaged, is the pressure my other teeth are putting upon the damaged tooth, which in this case, the best thing would to be having my wisdom teeth pulled, for more space, because none of them are in properly, yanking 4 molars, and braces
id prefer to get hit in the mouth, loose them all and have dentures, but that wouldnt be too fun...if my name were Daren, it would probably be normal to have that happen
good luck shawn i just had my wisdoms out and it is a relief after all the jaw pain subsides.then the pain of paying for it hits, hell i paid more for the removale of my wisdoms then i did for my car.it will be worth it in the long run if that is your prob.hope you get it fixed and all is better soon
