Title: Passenger power seat
Post by: TucanSam on February 05, 2007, 11:39:10 PM
I did a search and didnt find the answer.

If I want to add power to my passenger seat, what years T-Bird/Coug will fit for the seat track, switch plate, and wiring.  Im not cutting anything on my 86 so it has to be a plug-n-play, or a hack job on the parts Im adding..

I havent seen many 83-88 power seats in the boneyards, but Ive seen alot of 89+.  Will those seat tracks fit?

You need seat tracks from an 83-88 Bird or Cougar. I'm not sure if the wiring is there for the power passenger seat on a non factory equipped car though.

Having just changed the seats in my '88, The drivers seat is power and the passenger seat is manual, but the power plug is there for the power on the passenger side. I suspect the wiring to the console is there as well, you would just need the switches and plate for the console.

AFIK you need the DUAL power seat harness(has both sets of switches).... The plug on the manual passenger seat harness is just for the lumbar adj. I know this is correct on the '87-'88 TCs

So, an 89+ track will not fit?

Nope it won't. You need an 83-88 power seat track.
