Title: (95 Probe) transmission problem
Post by: Clayton on January 14, 2005, 09:08:19 PM
the day after the new year my sister got in her car started it shifted and it wouldn't move.. we had it hauled to where we had the trans replaced with a refab at summit transmission, she gets it home today and complains about no acceleration what-so-ever so i check it out i hear a high pitched winding sound.... like bald tires on ice (we all know what that sounds like :disappoin ) so i tell my mom to take it out, she gets no farther than 3 minuetes away from the house..... she comes walking back to get my sister and i and we push the car back to the house, tranny shifts but in every gear all it does is wind it revvs it doesnt move they said they fixed it but i dont trust them..... what is the prognosis    Dr. Fox?

Oh. Then she needs a tranny :D

Joking apart, check the fluid. If it's way down the tranny will slip. If the fluid is fine she's got tranny problems that can't be diagnosed on a messageboard. Did the rebuilt one she had installed have a warranty?
