east coast
I was walking out just now and was overcome by a bright light the size of the moon (yes i know,, perspective and proportion issue), and it passed overhead directly towards the ESE direction.
i continued into the garage to get some food from the deep freeze and this took about three minutes.,, I came back out and heard something i only heard over in iraq,, sounded like a big ass morter round as its the only way i can describe the explosion.
the sound came from my direct east,,,,,,,,,, comments?
i did some math knowing the speed of sound and such but im no sicentist,, i heard it hit and it definiatly hit ground. I know the difference between hitting the ground and hitting the water.
i would think it hit 100 miles off the us coast either in southeastern va or eastern NC.
im just a few miles north of charlotte NC and i was in class (so i prolly missed it) but i was on break from 3:15 - 3:30 and 5:20 to 5:45. didnt hear any boom or any talk about a boom.
Aliens? weapon test? flight test?
i was at work and a lady said to me, "DID U SEE THAT!" i turned around and saw nothing....she got to saying she saw something that looked like a big firework shooting out of the sky, from the sounds of things, it was pretty big. i never saw it, my back was turned, and i never heard a boom, i guess if it landed off near you i wouldnt hear anyting anyways...but i just figured she was crazy. maybe not
this is interesting.... dunno if its relevent

autocat,
dosage check?:beatyoass:
No boom or crazy lights here in tennesee
Or for that matter, here in WI
all dosages are correct :hick:
Perhaps it was a meteor.
Didn't hear a thing in Ohio
Wallops Island is off in that direction if I'm reading you right. They used to do atmospheric research over there iirc. Or it could've been some of the jet jockeys from Langley, DC, or the test range down in Carolina playing - or being serious. Did the zoomies go supersonic over in Iraq? Maybe you heard a sonic boom? I know there are rules against it over populated areas in the US but right after Sept 11 there were at least 2 of them that left Eglin with the afterburners lit. I heard them in Panama City and that's about the distance you're talking about. Pretty sure the Navy can light 'em up at will when they're a certain distance offs too.
I never see this and hear this as well, but I'm near of a munition plant (simunition co, in Le Gardeur Quebec), and if I'll hear big booom, and a little earthquake, I'll go out and see at the south...
in 70's this plant was owned by Canada Government, and a big fire was started here, all fire fighters from 20 miles round was called to this, finally most fear of hurts, but around 40% of the building was destroyed, nobody killed, but I hate near this plant (5 miles straight line maximum), it a very safety building, but I dont like them...
Just My two cent...
Have a nice day,
Dom.
I heard a rather large explosion also in Ohio. I was told this morning by a co-worker that China test fired another anti-satellite missle, and destroyed another satellite. Could be what you heard and saw.
This? Maybe?
