Alrighty- I thought we '87/'88 Cougar lovers had it bad when it came to headlights (availabilty/replacements)...

...but can someone explain THIS:

Why in the world would the availablity of headlights for the '99 - '02 Cougar be so limited? Surely they are still available from Ford, but are they SO incredibly overpriced from the dealer that New Edge owners would spend this much for a USED one? Anyone know what they go for new from Ford?

They changed the headlights in '01 along with the front bumper.

Interesting!

I had not ever noticed the differences in lenses between the different models. ( Admittedly, I have not studied them closely :D )

Still, I wonder why they are so expensive? Though, I guess since it is an "all-in-one" it would be like me having to purchase the headlight, inner marker, and turn signal lenses all at the same time for Roxanne. (IF I could even do such a thing anymore :hick: )

These (http://"http://www.promotiontuning.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=CougDemonEyes&Category_Code=9902CougarExteriorLighting") are what im looking at for replacements, seeing as my head lights on the 99 were cracked when i bought it.

Furthermore anyone willing to pay 355 for stock head lighs should have thier heads checked.

Lordy, why are plastic headlights SO FRIGGIN EXPENSIVE!!!

im gonna become a friggin glassblower and make myself glass light housings! of course, if they could make some lights that WONT degrade from stupid UV rays then we wouldnt have this problem. or the sun needs to stfu.

Yeah i re-read that and then noticed it, well looks like I will have to search the Junkyard for a decent lookin pair. None the less anyone who pays that much for a quite recent part is daft.
