Title: cold weather and low heat
Post by: CougarCoupe88 on January 20, 2007, 04:25:27 AM
well it finally seems like winter round me and tonight was pretty  cold. i took the truck out bc they salted the roads (not putting my car though that again) let the truck deal with it . anyway. it just seemd like i couldnt get heat in the  thing for nothing.  well i just got back form driving 20 mins and a good lil highway drive. stoped at McD's for a snack. parked the truck and checked to see how the overflow tank was to see if im leaking or if it needed a fill. but the uper rad hose was warm. the radiator was like ice cold.  so imthinking i should block some of this radiator off on cold days to get some heat.  yeah or nah.  never had this problem with the cougar or mustang. but the truck got a big old grill .

I doubt that it's just too could.  You're probably looking at a thermostat or a clogged heater core.  If it's not leaking that is.  Also it could be the valve that adjust how much water goes to your heater core.  Most run off vacuum.
