i want to purchase a set of 1.7 roller rockers but i need to know if my heads heads are for stud or pedestal type rockers?
Stock is pedestal mount.
And mine would be too?
They all are.
my engine is stud mount
7/16 studs with an adjustment nut with an allen set screw in each nut.
aftermarkets toss the pedestal and fulcrum
if need be, drill a hole into the pedistal stand off and thread it. OR, install a stud.
they insert a pin all the way thru the pedestal and the new stud horizonally to lock it in.
Is that one of them newfangled electric balance shafts in the lifter valley?
It lights up too so you can see if the engine is timed right:hick:
Scott, what heads are those?
ok thanks, what about GT-40p head? are they stud or pedestal?
:beatyoass: :D
1966 / 289 heads worked over and milled to HP289 specs but with larger valves.
factory was 54.5cc but with larger than HP289 valves and milling included., it makes them have better numbers.
haha i didnt know ALL heads are pedestal, thanks for clearing that up.
Scott those studs are actually 3/8
I've heard some of the pre-1977 castings were in fact stud mount. Can anyone confirm either way?
Yes shawn I saw your post:hick: however I'm not sure if you meant ALL or just 5.0's from 85 is on up....
no, not true.,, not all heads are pedestal.
I dont mean all as in every head. Any cylinder head pertaining to these cars are pedastal mount.
i know you know that,, i just did not know if the other guy knew what you meant based on how he replied.
