ok i know i have a modified mcphearson (mcphearson strut with a lower control arm) so i need new struts. are there any aftermarket struts that would improve handling? and as far as srpings, i dont really want to lower my car, that is unless if i go with a bigger tire (recalibrate the speedo for it) and im looking mainly for a progressive spring. will the mustang aftermarket springs work? and as far as going to either an 8.8 or 9in rear end, will i have to modify the rearedn housing to accept the stock shocks and springs in the rear? also are there aftermarket lower control arms that would improve handling?:birdsmily:
oh yea, do the 5 lug spindals on a fox mark 7 bolt right in without modification to the front susp on a bird?
First of all, welcome to the boards.
There is a wealth of info here...

wow thanks for that link, i got some reading to do. and thanks for the welcome.
Autocat, Welcome to the board :D From my experience, the rear mustang springs/shocks are too short for our cars. Although I've read here that some people have made the shocks work. As far as the rear axle goes, the Fox MKVII 8.8 will bolt right in. You have to get the e-brake ends and swap them out onto your car (unless you already have rear discs). The shocks will bolt right up.
Again, Welcome and good luck.

Interesting website for the Cougar. I am sure some of the info transfers to the T-Birds. Is there a similar site specific to T-Birds?
everything is the same for the Tbirds, other than some of the body related info.
I'm using the stock base/LX V8 springs and Monroe Sensatrac shocks and struts. I like them alot. The car rides firm but not so much so that it's jarring over bumps. I'd say they are the best replacement shocks for a nice firm ride that is still decently soft.
