Title: Headlight lenses
Post by: Schlodes on January 13, 2007, 04:32:20 AM
The passenger side headlight lense on my Cougar is starting to come away from the rest of the headlight assembly.  So far it's just the bottom corner, but it's obviously going to get worse. From how it looks I am thinking I can 'help' it the rest of the way off :hick: and then put it back on with some sort of glue or sealer.. I'm wondering what kind of stuff you would use to do this?

I used clear silicone in the housing, pressed the lense back in and held together for about 5 min. Let it dry and trimmed off the excess. It has held fine and no moisture inside

I got permatex adhesive for lenses. Great bond with no problems what-so-ever.

Your lense will pry off fairly easily. Use a putty knife or a small flathead screwdriver to gently pry it away from the housing, easy as pie.
