Anyone have a soloution to using an aluminum driveshaft in a 87-88

Don't think anyone has come up with an exact fit but maybe a longer one that can be cut down re welded and balanced by a driveshaft shop???

You will definitely want the steel yoke - an aluminum yoke would wear extremely quickly. I don't even know if they make an aluminum yoke.

I dunno if SN95's have the same length, or even if they're aluminum. I do remember a member of this forum having a Crown Vic Police Interceptor drive shaft cut down and welded though...

SN95's are the same length as fox's. The extra length is made up in the bellhousing. They are also steel.

you can go to a place that works on big rigs and say you have a driveshaft thats too long, they can cut it down, weld it up, and balance it.  my dad did that for his B-Cadet car. (had a 55 chevy rear subframe with a 78 camaro front subframe.  had to have a custom driveshaft.  of course he used a standard steel shaft but im sure they could do aluminum.
