Title: Tires lockin up on driver side on braking
Post by: tbirdera on January 10, 2007, 09:26:22 PM
well before i changed all teh hoses on my motor when i would break the wheels on teh driver side would lock up and i would skid on that side. When i chnaged the hoses 2 dayts ago i drove the car today and it was fine and it didnt lock up. then later on the brakes started acting up again. What could this be?? Could it be a proportioning valve? i chnaged all teh brake pads  and brake boots and 2 rear wheel cyinders and 2 front bleeders. HELP HELP HELP!!!

Did you bleed the brakes in order after you did all the work to them?
Pass rear, Driver rear, Pass front, Driver front?

WEll, thats how I was told to do them. How it was explaned to me was that in that order, it removes the air fromthe lines, front ot back. The farthest from the master cylinder is frist, then next to last, and so on. I just did the brakes in mine that way and it stops fine. No pulling. I did the WHOLE rear setup and new front padsm then bleed them all.

When you changed the pads how did the piston in the caliper feel and what was it's condition? Could be sticking.

Sounds to Me a seized caliper, this is frequent after changing front pads...

ive seen before where someone took the caliper off to replace pads...but when they put the caliper back on, they rotated it 360* end over end, so this twisted the brake lines to the point very little fluid passed through it, id double check your soft lines to see if they got twisted around
