That '78 reminds me of the Camaros I used to see around here in the early '90s.
I wonder how many Foghat concerts it has been to?

:D

Seeing those Camaros reminds me of my old '76. I wish I could have restored it but it was too far gone. Hell, I would have grown the mullet if thats what it would take to drive it :hick: That split bumper is my favorite hands down.

Speaking of TA's, Claude, I think you would like my cousins '80 Trans Am Turbo SE. Black on black with gold turbines and gold bird/striping. Just a little over 20K miles and untouched. Makes me sick.

The ole 4.9 turbo TA sweet,my buddy in Iowa has a 77 TA with a bowtie in it. But after he was down to the Pontiac Uprising at the strip he has now a 400 poncho going together. Did they make a formula in 77,78. Or is that just a formula hood. Nothing wrong with being diverse.

My first car was a '78 T/A with a '70 LT1, my second was an '80 Formula with a 301. I loved the T/A and will own another some day (I also loved the Formula, especially the looks, but the 301 was a dog)

My dad had a 70 GP with a 71 Ta 455 in it. That thing was a beast. It would light the tires at 30-40mph. Monster torque>rpms.
My 4cyl volkswagen could run from my buddys 82 GP=301.
definately made for boat anchors. LOL

Even the Turbo couldn't help the 301. It just helped most of them blow up. :giggle:

In 80's I beated ALL of TA/camaro/Firebirds tryed to racing Me with My Mercury Cyclone Spoiler '70, THERE's a nightmare for all trying to race Me, thrust Me!!!, I'm a Ford owner since I have My drivers licence, and before, and I rarely see another car fast like My '70 Cyclone, except Boss 429 and some 426 Chryco HEMI, the rest is just a scooter for Me at this time.

Ohhh yess, It was the fastest ans shagyest car I ever owned, not a high leveled car, or anything of these, it was black with silver stripe, that's it, 205/65-15 front and 245/65-15 rear, thrue dual 3.25" exhaust, not a flashing car, but a REAL  faster car, when I want to show a bit for racer or whatever, I'll just go at 10-15mph and put the fuel at full, the car levelling around 3" at the front tires, this discourage a lot of racer eheheheh!...

It's not because it was My car, But it was really a great rodder and fast a lot (You never imagine), 0-60mph 3.8 seconds, I liked this car a lot, and driver 17 years, BUT one time in a race I totaled on a rural road at over 100mph, the car (with me inside) was rolled over 500 feet, the engine and trans, ect was 3-400 feet over the hit, and never found the battery!!!...

I have 2 or 3 pics (I don't know where) and one of these pic is a wheel over the street, when I found I'll scan and post here for sure...

I keeped the engine after the crash (after I was out of the hospital for severe head damages), since this I have a big loss of memory and some issue, and I shipped the engine to the s in 2002 (totaled the car in 2k), I guessed I rebuild the BEAST but it was too damaged, one head was completely chopped at the rockers, the timing chain cover was broke, and as well the camshaft was shot, and I guess the crank was bent, but not sure...

Anyway, this car it was  great for Me, but tried to kill Me too, and I preferred to wipe off all of the Cyclone...

Now I drive My '85 bird 3.8liter/232 V6 and it's great :grinno:

What a mouth full!!!!, okay, that's it for this message...

P.S. YES it was a 429 SCJ, 2x 4bbl.

Best regards,

A woman at two home of Me have a 1985 Z28 in perfect condition, always garaged, never abused (she have over 70 today), and the car have around 25 or 35k on it, 305 4bbl, original dual exhausts, last year her changed his ORIGINAL tires cauz the tires was "dryed"...

The car is always in her heated garage, and weekly cleaned unless her drive it, the car is silver with flat black rally stripes, the car wa painted only one time cauz the original paint was faded, NEVER RUSTED!!!, the car is beautyful like a candy!...

When I have the chance this spring I'll take a lot of pics of this Z28 and post some here, last time I talked with her he wanted 5.000$ for that, it's cheap considering the exceptionnal condition (new) of the car, the interior is like new, it's amazing...

I don't like the GM product, but this car is an exception, really!.

Have a nice Day...

My friend just bought a 1969 cyclone for a guy here locally. It had a 428cj motor in it. Kinda rare i presume, they paid 6500 for it and it had all original paint on it and it was pretty clean too. White with red stripes on the side. they race 428cj for a living,10.20 at 135 in a 1970 mustang. 10.80's in a 1968 torino 428cj,stock everything just know how to mod the orig stuff.
