Title: WTB - Swaybar attachment brackets and an '87 3.8L EEC
Post by: JeremyB on January 02, 2007, 03:16:06 PM
I replaced the swaybar endlinks on my '85 this weekend.

I noticed for the umpteenth time that my swaybar brackets are twisted up like a pretzel. So, I need another set.

Also, I need an EEC out of an '87 3.8L. Part number must be E73F-xxx

The swaybar attachment brackets aren't carried in part stores.

What can they be off of? I'll make a run to a freind's parts can and see is I can snag a set from an 88 T/c if they will work.

I realize I can find a replacement at a junkyard...but I am lacking in time to go get one for the present. Also, after the 25th of Jan, I won't be able to wrench for 6+ weeks.

I honestly don't know. I think that all of our cars use the same bracket. Anybody have a clue?

Mustang brackets are too short...you have to use T-Bird/Cougar brackets, probably Mark VII also. Believe it or not, I don't even have a spare pair...

I might... just MIGHT, have the set I took off the parts TC. Not sure if I kept 'em or tossed 'em when I installed the TC sway bar into my '88 (I re-used the 88's brackets). Lemme look tomorrow...

Fox mustang stuff will not work as stated.. however, sn-95's use the same dropped swaybar setup.

I can't find my old brackets, so I think I tossed 'em when I tossed the old struts, spindles, rotors, rack, etc...

Sorry J

That kit doesn't include the outer portion of the bracket (the part that is twisted up). Also, the Mustang part won't fit with the Thunderbird outer brackets. I'm not sure why Summit says they interchange.

Jeremy: I found my old brackets today while trying to find the trim for my fenders. $25 shipped and they're yours (shipping would eat up about $13 of that). I'll post a pic tomorrow if you want

Nothing a sandblaster can't fix. I'll take them (assuming the Price is Right), but there is a caveat.

I'm having a small procedure done quite soon and won't have time to send payment before then. I'll be out of commission until mid/late February. Let me know if this works for you.

$25 shipped - the shipping will actually eat up about $13 of that, so I'm not out to get rich. I'm in no hurry, and they're not going anywhere, so whenever you're... um... recommissioned :hick:

Sounds like a plan.

What are my payment options? I normally use a USPS Money Order.

USPS money order is fine (but you've got to get the pink "international" one, not the green "domestic" one). I also do PayPal (I know, I know, pure evil). Just lmk when you want to do the thing that we're doing here and I'll PM you my address
