Children of Men - 4/5

The cinematography in this movie was awesome! There were scenes were it felt like you were in the  movie. The camera would run and hide though the shooting. Definitely not a movie for the faint of heart or those wanting a more "Hollywood" style of a film. Would of gotten a 5 if there wasn't so many loose ends.

Just saw it last night....

It was what I expected.  Obviously VERY stylized, but good nonetheless.  Something I would own.

I give it a 4/5.

One of the funniest things I heard was on the way out.  One of the retards walking behind me talking about the final scene... "Looks like they were setting up for the sequel....":dunce: :shakehead

Heh, I was kinda aiming that one in your direction, but it's cool it still applies to the kid. Anywho, based on the numbers the movie did over the opening weekend, they'll find a way to make some sort of a sequel to it. I haven't seen it myself so I don't know the story or how it ends, but based on years and years of burning out my mind on tv and movies I can confidently say that if Hollywood makes enough money on a movie like that, they'll make a sequel or prequel. Anything to make a buck.

At me?

The story is a very stylized account of the battle of Thermopylae...
The ending scene is the beginning of the battle of Plataea...

I'm well aware of how Hollywood works...

The Illusionist 5/5

This movie was So much better than the prestige (although the prestige was excellent in its own right). There was more depth to the characters and the Illusionist did not bother with trying to explain all the Tricks that were performed. Infact
*SPOILER*[COLOR="White"]The only trick that was explained was the orange Tree and he used a mechanized lift to make the tree grow [/COLOR]Highlight with your mouse if you wish to read the spoiler.

Stay Alive 1/5

This movie was not even interesting from the get go, when i saw the commercials for it when it first came out i was like :toilet: . None the less i decided to torture myself with this waste of cellophane the actors were quite unconvincing and the storyline was horrible and full of holes. They left the ending open to a stay alive 2 god please let there not be another one of these.

Borat 5/5.  My stomach literally hurt the next day from laughing!

And as for car chase movies:  One of the greatest is "Moonrunners", which is the life story of the real life dukes of hazzard.  This movie was the basis for the show, however the movie is much less family oriented, if you know what I mean.

Looks like this year is going to be a good year. :D

TMNT
http://imdb.com/title/tt0453556/
I need to find some free time to go see this one. Looks pretty sweet!

Spiderman 3
http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/spiderman3.html
This is the movie I've been waiting for. They finally show Venom in the trailer! He is the only reason I ever read a Spiderman comic book. The only problem I see with this is he's got waaay too many villains. I saw at least three and that's not including the suit. It'll be interesting to see how they handle it all. BTW, I hate Spiderman as a comic book character, but I love this movie series.

Transformers
http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1808716430/info
http://imdb.com/title/tt0418279/
I knew this one was coming and I was still flipping out when I saw the trailer on TV. I just don't know if I can take a 4th of July opening (lots and lots of people) again.

Live Free or Die Hard
http://imdb.com/title/tt0337978/
Another one of my favorite Movie series. Can't wait! :D

Shooter - 4.25/5

This is one of those movies you definitely need a killer sound system to watch.

EDIT: Also, this was by far the worst audience ever! I mean it had chick on the cell phone, dood beside her going in and out (jumping over the railing) apparently to chat on the phone. WTF!!! Several people walking in and out (nearly stomping down the stairs) to get refreshments. People opening plastic wrappers during a quiet scenes (which were few and far between... this is a LOUD movie), people chit chatting about the movie during quiet scenes. A couple with their baby sitting right in front of us (I will give props that they would leave whenever they baby would start to act up) and to top it all off we had exclusive commentary from this old guy in the back on one side and some chick on the other side. I mean every little thing he had to mutter something about. STFU!!!

Ocean's 13 - 4.5/5

Twelve is my favorite still (probably because I saw it first) but it was still really good.

A couple movies from the previews I'm looking forward to seeing.
American Gangstar - [trailer (http://"http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0765429/trailers-screenplay-E33032-10-2")]
I am Legend - [trailer (http://"http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0480249/trailers")]
Live Free or Die Hard - [trailer (http://"http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0337978/trailers-screenplay-E32256-10-2")]

And of course...
Transformers - [trailer (http://"http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0418279/trailers-screenplay-E32824-10-2")]

While I was looking for the trailer links I noticed that they are making another Bourne sequel. The Bourne Ultimatum - [trailer (http://"http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0440963/trailers-screenplay-1-10-2")]

Pirates Of The Carribean: At Worlds End 4/5, long over the top, very camp, and an excellent "end" to the story.

Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer 4/5, possibly better than the first, kinda short, little bit predictable toward the end, but worth the price of admission.

And Ether, I can't wait for those movies either, with the exception of American Gangster. This is looking to be a great summer for movies.

Watched Music & Lyrics...most annoying song ever: Pop! Goes my heart. Its so corny, yet so catchy. Stuck in my head!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S0A7dtdc-nU

Would be a 2-3 without the song, its a 4 with the best/worst song/music video ever! They so caught the 80's in this.

Oh, it's been awhile since I've updated this...

Transformers - 10/5
Watched it like a bazillion times on DVD.

Deja Vu - 5/5
So good I watched it twice. :D

Gangs of New York - 4/5
Long as hell!

I Think I Love My Wife - 3.5/5
Only watch this if you are by yourself.  I've never had to "not laugh" at so much stuff in my life.

Spiderman 3 - 5/5
I thought all the villians (including his own personal battles) would be too much, but I was glad I was proven wrong. Black-Suited Spidey/Peter Parker were awesome.

Anyone seen No Country for Old Men?

ROFL. You're worse than my old man. He has an ATI capture card on one box, and a Hauppauge+SageTV on the other (which is what I run). I think  he's up to 2Tb total storage (or is it 3Tb? I can't keep track--he's just nuts). SageTV is just incredible. I'm a movie fiend, but unfortunately we have all these movie channels and the movies are still py.

Imprint
A part of the Showtime Masters of horror series about an American man looking for his Chinese love interest gets more than he bargins for when he buys the company of a woman for a night. 2/5

I completely agree. Went and saw it at the theatre and even now my wife & I agree that it was one of the best movies we have seen this year.
Jack Black was perfect for the role.
Even if you don't have kids, it's worth seeing.

After several years of nagging I finally got my wife to sit down and watch Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Rings on Saturday night. She is now hooked and we watched The Two Towers on Sunday night. We will finish it up this weekend.

I went to the movies today around 2pm.  I was going to see Gran Torino but the whole theatre was full of blue hairs and it smelled!  Imagine 100+ of them in one room.

Anyway I returned my tickets and got underworld tickets.  It was alright but mostly because we saw it on the ultra screen.

Sweet. you are going to need connectivity to your projector from your PC. i have mine converted over to a media center /home theater pc. i installed a MB that supports hdmi which i have connected to a 50' plasma. i use it as my primary monitor as well. audio is run through an optical cable into my nuforce pre-amp.

with most of the stuff you download you lose alot of quality but really, the picture is similar to a theater. you generally only get 2 channel audio with them. they are usually ripped from a DVD and compressed down under 1 gig. usually around 700mb so they can fit on a disk. no where near as a good as a loss less rip from a DVD but IMO, but watching a movie in my own home beats the hell out of having to go out to a theater.

Client:
http://www.bittorrent.com/

torrent:
http://www.torrentreactor.net/find/gran-torino-screener

in general, if you can get into a private community like demonoid you end up with faster DL's and better quality along with better reliability. sometime it can be a pain with Google torrents. try to stick to screeners. they are not copy protected the same way a store bought dvd would be. sometimes you get garbage uber early in the theater movie torrents. believe it or not, it done by people that bring vid. cameras into a movie and record it. pretty retarded and not worth the time DL. after a dl starts you can check its quality after awhile and see weather or not its garbage or a keeper.

Try a "private" community like demonoid. generally you get much better quality stuff and at the very least, the quality/type is listed with the torrent as well as screen shots most of the time. its a little more secure as well. you can get blueray stuff as well. i usually source those as well as dvd screeners. i hate going to the theater and id rather watch a div x qual. dvd rip at home. doesnt make much sense to DL anything that is currently released on DVD when you can just borrow or rent and rip it yourself and end up with a clean no loss rip. netflix ftmfw

its a PITA to register on demonoid so if you want an invite let me know and ill get you an invite code.

i disagree. I think that JJ Abrams should be kicked squarely in the balls for this movie.  Why did we need to introduce timetravel and an alternate reality? The only reason they were there in the first place is so the screwed up story made a tiney bit of sense..... Red matter?? WTF?  The bridge and the entire ship for that matter were completely cartoonish....And how in the hell did leonard nimoy forget how to act???

Taken by itself...its an OK movie.  Taken in context with the whole style and flow of ALL THE OTHER TREK MOVIES....it was way wrong. Great effects though....

It begs the question when did he actually learn to act??

and yes i actually watched the original movie's and shows most of which had horrible acting from all supporting actors.

Anyone gonna go see Where The Wild Things Are when it comes out? I haven't been this excited about a movie in a long long time.

Yes, My girlfriend and i are going to it next Saturday, a day after opening i despise going to movies on opening night.

Role Models

2.5/5
Not as funny of a movie as i was hoping for and quite immature with some of the humor . I mean i was not looking for highbrow humor especially with Sean william Scot being in it, but come on the whole hotdog/croissant thing was just elementary humor.
