Title: All the stuff I need for my HO swap
Post by: thunderjet302 on December 30, 2006, 04:08:30 PM
Ok in about two months I'm going to start the HO swap into my T-bird. It's going to have a stock HO roller cam and GT-40 iron heads. I'm getting all the parts together over the next two months so I just want to make sure I get everything I need. Here's a list of what I'm picking up so far:

19lb/hr injectors
speed density Mustang or MK VII computer
155 lp/hr fuel pump
water pump
intake manifold gaskets
exhaust gaskets
spark plugs
oil and filter
coolant
soild rubber motor mounts from NAPA

Am I missing anything? I just did a tune up on the car this summer so it has new 9mm Ford Racing wires, cap and rotor, pcv valve, and fuel filter. Can you guys think of anything else I need to pick up? Thanks guys.

new timing and chain and gears for a HO 5.0...make sure you get the chain AND gears...there's a difference  between the SO and HO.

the rubber mounts are cheaper at autozone for the same ones,
head gasket kit will give you all the gaskets you will need.

I bought an intake gasket kit,2 head gaskets, valve cover gaskets, and gaskets for the front cover and water pump all seperately and it was about $20.00 cheaper than the entire head gasket kit was as a set. That was at our local AutoZone. You just have to ask questions and price everything.Get some lube for the cam for installation.

I'm getting the engine completely assembled from a local machiene shop so I don't need any assembly stuff. It'll have the oil pan, front cover, water pump, and valve covers already installed by the time I get it. I should have said that my bad.

I'll have to try autozone for the rubber motor mounts. We have an autozone, advance auto parts, and a NAPA all with in a mile of each other. It's odd to say the least.

Looks like I got most of the stuff I need then. Thanks for the replys. If you guys can think of anything else let me know.
