Title: Negative for onenastytbird??? (Nick)
Post by: Ether947 on December 27, 2006, 07:37:58 AM
I would strongly advise not to deal with Nick Noble [onenastytbird].
Info I have...
Nicholas Noble Ferguson, Missouri onenastytbird (on many boards, even ebay... one word google) nnoble1780@yahoo.com ("nnoble1780@yahoo.com") cardomain (http://"http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2516833") Normally I'm a little more patient. But this should take 5 mins to resolve. You tell me what I should do? Here's the scoop.
I was interested in the SN-95 front brake setup he has for sale in the thread below. And after he sent me pics I offered him a price shipped. He asked for more due to the weight and I accepted this price and paypal'd him on 12/22/06. He stated that he would ship on the next day... the following day I receive an email stating that the carrier he choose wants more money, over a 150% more than what we agreed to. Granted it's still a nice price, but it's not what we agreed to and it wasn't within my budget so I asked for a refund that very same day (12/23/06). And since then I have not heard one peep from Nick. Not one.
For an uneventful Xmas Day I enjoyed my day off with my family and put this out of my mind. And yesterday (12/26/06) I sent my last email asking for him to respond by the end of the day or I will have to assume that he has no intention of doing so.
And today I am getting ready to file with paypal, unless I hear from Nick.
But, before I do so, I would like to hear from those who have dealt with onenastytbird. Anyone?

Been here less than 2 months. 15 posts. 13 of them in For Sale/Wanted. A couple of token posts in User rides.
Sounds like a big

Hopefully he went out of town or something of the sort - I'd give him the benefit of the doubt just for a few more days, since it is the holidays and all that. Keep us updated!

Andrew stated it perfectly. I'd say give him another week before you're 100% sure.

I re-read and I realized now that all you need from him is a few clicks on paypal's site. I guess this really should've been resolved by now.

well from what i hear it cost alot more to ship that what was expected. now you cant blame a guy for not wanting to pay for your shipping, thats reasonable. i have had no problems with him on this or other sites. in a sence your asking him to pick up the tap for the extra shipping. we all know those arent light. i understand that it might be more that you are expecting to pay or agreed on but if he asked you to pay 150% more in shipping then how big of a hit would that be for him to sell them to you? wow he could make $40 on everything tops. and that doesnt include what he paid. so he would come out negative for sure. even if he refunds your money hell still lose cause of the paypal taxes and shiznit. so i say take the money back if you wont pay the shipping and let the 5 buck or so go for the taxes cause your backing out due to shipping cost when you should of known that they should cost more to ship that that. and if there is another carrier that will do it cheaper then who and go though them. think from the other side. i see the light at both ends but you cant expect a guy to take that big of a hit for your shipping

No, Ether decided not to get the parts, so he wanted the money he already paid to Nick back. Am I understanding this right?

Not taking sides here one way or the other, but....
If I were in your shoes, I'd have gotten a specific quote on shipping before sending money.

Antonio. From experience it should not cost more than 25 bucks to ship those UPS. I shipped 40 lbs and it cost me 17 so I'm thinking 25 would be about right.

I have sold just as many parts on this board, nato, corral, eBay and other places as I have purchased. Never. And I mean never have I EVER asked anyone to pay up for my mistake and nor will I pay for theirs. Remember that part out of my 88TC a few months back when I charged $5 plus shipping for interior parts??? You honestly think I made $5 after shipping that center console to you?
And instead of making him hold true to his word I decided I'll let him off the hook by asking him to send my money back, which paypal will take their cut of. I didn't need them that bad. Truthfully I already have a set but that's beside the point. Furthermore I have shipped front brakes before and it wasn't anywhere near what he was asking. But that's beside the point as well.
The point is we reached a deal. I gave Nick money. Nick has my money. Nick underestimated shipping. Nick wants more money to ship. I asked for a refund. Nick stopped responding. Nick still has my money and the parts. How in the hell am I wrong???

I sent it to him via paypal. I asked for a refund a little over 12hrs after doing so. It should of been sitting in his paypal account at that time. Even if he transfered it into his bank account by now, all he has to do is send it back via paypal and paypal will do the magic for him.
Do you know Nick?

ok so i thank you for that broke ass console for 5 buck but i paid for the shipping, how much was it? i have that it was 15 for shipping. i might have the box still. if you wanted more i offer 10 but you said 5. and if shipping was more why did you never say so. if he was tring to rip you off that is the worst way cause packages come with the cost of shipping on the package. if you have made these mistakes where they ever this large of amount of money? all im saying is people make mistakes. youll get your money back.

Why are you speaking for Nick? Simply put, had he continued communication like he obviously must be doing with you we prolly wouldn't be here. I would be in bed right now so I can go to work in the morning.

Ok, I've stood back and watched You Fvck up alot of threads. You are out of line. Period. Antonio is having issues with this guy so why don't you go smack yourself in the god head. Maybe you will learn a bit of god common sense and a hint of grammar.
There are ways of doing online business, and it looks as if you know nothing of it. What are you going to do when you part out this car? **** people over? Then tell them you're in the right? With you're god HORRID grammar? You're a ****ing idiot.

The way I see it... A shipping quote was asked for, one was provided and agreed upon, that makes it a verbal agreement. Nick should be a man and step up, and resolve this. Not saying he isn't, just that he needs to show it to Antonio.
That is all.

He doesn't need some henchman spewing his "opinions" all over the place. Tell your friend to stop pulling your parts, and pull something else from between his legs. they can handle it them selves... no need to get half the board involved in a dispute that can be solved with a little communication between two people

Not that it's any of your business, but yes, it was out of my budget. I had X number of dollars in my paypal account and that is the limit I set for myself. I sold a part on NATO (took a hit on shipping) and used that money to buy the SN-95 front brakes from Nick and some SN-95 rear axles from John (shame302). Turns out the offer Nick gave me was right at my budget limit. Had he offered $5 more I would have declined. I almost declined the deal we reached. But a $100 to ship? Ridiculous. But once again we stray away from the point.
I haven't heard from Nick since Saturday. Even you said it yourself, he isn't talking. I can empathize better than most people I know, but if Nick doesn't speak, how am I suppose to know?? Why am I still hearing about Nick's intentions (whatever they may be) through a third party?

Despite the cheap shots...this thread is proving to be extremely informative. It's staying open until resolution.
For the record, Antonio is one of the best people to deal with here. He is more than fair and honest, and regularly takeshiznits on what he sells because he has integrity. So I think Nick needs to step up and at least show his face a little, and get some dialogue going towards resolving this. Only a coward uses the Internet to hide.

Hey,stuff happens,I'll be the first to admit that.I had a HUGE dilemma some time ago.I sold parts with a partner and he left me high and dry,and I got left holding an empty bag.It took a while, but I FINALLY got everything squared up and fixed.I still came back and enjoy the site more than any other car forum. You can't run and hide. You deal with it,make things right, and keep moving forward.
I would like to see a feedback system here like they have on the Corral forums.really cool, and keps a number by your name like E-bay for everyone to see your feedback score.Just a thought.
onenastbird, you really don't have to leave, just use communication, make things good and all is well.No worries.

I would like to see a feedback system here like they have on the Corral forums.really cool, and keps a number by your name like E-bay for everyone to see your feedback score.Just a thought.
onenastbird, you really don't have to leave, just use communication, make things good and all is well.No worries.
thats cool thanks and i appreiate what u said

personally,, im highly insulted by atleast 15 members on this board who have been kinda funny about me and my lack of use of my paypal account. Its like they think im a dead beat or some one wanting to pull a fast one. This whole jumping the gun and not giving another person on the other end time to react is just silly. If anyone ever decides to deal with me,, here are my rules....
i get your money,, ill most likely have already sent the part. Its not like any of this we collect is really worth anything ,afterall, its the love of the cars and sharing the parts that we enjoy the most.
if you send me a part, ill most likely have already sent you the money and if i havent,,, i got busy,, like you probably did when i sent you money and got the part a month later. No bitching from me,, not a word and there have been 4 cases like this very thread since i got back from iraq this past may.
shesh,, we are not a store , we are people here with cool stuff to sell or collect. I dont give a care if you complain about one another, nor about me cause i dont sweat the pay pal cops lookin over my shoulder. They dont do for me, i keep things simple.

Title: Update

It appears we are back at square one folks. Haven't heard from Nick since he told me I would receive my money back in "maybe 3 or 4 days" almost three weeks ago.

Well it is pretty obvious from this post that the guy is a deadbeat. An immature deadbeat, at that.
Hey onenastytbird, it's time to either give the money back, or take the hit on shipping the parts and get them in Ether947's hands - pr0nTO.
I can't believe that you haven't already settled this transaction. Even if you make things square, you are a crook in my book and will be avoided.

Speaking as an attorney who sues people for things like this (except on a larger scale), I find onenastytbird's attitude and conduct to be reprehensible.

Why would we want someone who acts like this hanging around the board. Not only has he committed fraud against a very reputable member of the board, he then comes in, uses childish insults, and talks about leaving. He brought this onto himself.

Sorry Antonio and almost everyone else but i dont back down. im sure this will all be resolved in time. and yes antonio does good bussiness and helps out people, me included, on parts so this look like a good guy is getting screwed but it will all be cleared up soon.
So...it still looks like a good guy is getting screwed.
Is your "friend" ever going to man up and resolve this?
If you want to vouch for someone...you better be prepared to take the heat when they turn out to be a worthless flake.

Well Put. There is absolutely no reason why this hasn't been resolved yet. I'm all for having a minimum post count in the for sale/wanted sections before you can start a new thread. This has happened too many times lately. Unfortunately, this means our junior members will miss out on some good deals. There's always e-mail if someone wants to buy anything specific and they dont have the post count anyways. At least we wouldnt have these little delinquents peddling parts they dont actually have to honest members on this website. Once in a while this can be expected i guess, but not with the frequency in wich its been happening lately. :birdsmily:  :shakehead

X2.New people could buy,but not sell. Some of us may miss out on a legitimate deal, but overall, the safety of the members is more important. In time, parts will always show up.

cougar86_89,
Where is Mr. Nick Noble (ironic, I know)? Have you seen him lately?
How hard is it for him to send an email stating "hey I ****ed up and I need a little more time to get your money"? I sent you a PM about a week ago (cc'd Nick as well) asking for his whereabouts and I have yet to hear from either of you. And no I should not have to go through you to talk to Mr. Noble but that seems to be the way it is.
Nick, I need a response by Jan 22 before I escalate this...

YOU brought yourself into this and YOU vouched for this guy.
If you didn't want to be in the middle of it, you should have kept your mouth shut.
You are Antonio's only route of contact at the moment since your friend is being a coward. While it's not your responsibilty to babysit this loser, as a supposed member of this community, one might think you'd step up to the plate and help things along. But no....

I edited my previous post... I was talking to Nick and you and in general at the same time but after re-reading it, it didn't sound that way. Sorry about that.
Moving on.
As Chuck stated I would LOVE to not have anyone involved in this, but like it or not, you sir are my only contact. If you don't want to help then say so and I will leave you out. I got no problem with that.

Mail fraud is a felony.
I believe that this counts. Probably be a smart idea to give back the money, or give up the parts, unless you want to be convicted in a federal court for it.

Paypal awarded me the case, but of course he doesn't have any money in there. Big surprise. BTW he uses the same username on many different forums including eBay so beware.

what a tool. i absolutely hate people like this. they think that because they have a username, that it gives them anonymity and they can pull like this with no repercussions. i've been lucky that everyone that i've done business with so far, has been honest and straight dealing. it's a shame this happened to you, but it's good that you brought it to the attention of the board.

Is this him? Still selling on eBay but no longer takes paypal for payment. We know the reason for that. You would think that if someone has a claim against him on paypal that they would no longer be allowed to sell on eBay either? Ebay now ownes PayPal.

I would have to assume so since some of the stuff he is selling is for a 351.

There should be at the very least a negative indication on his account. Paypal and eBay are integrated like beans and franks.
Found a pic of him on his eBay profile (http://"http://myworld.ebay.com/ebaymotors/onenastytbird"). (http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i78/ether947/misc/d4_7.jpg)
