Title: Wheel cross reference?

i am having a hard time finding wheels for my 86 cougar. is there anything that cross references with it that i can look under that is more current? i know alot of imports have 4 lug patterns, it seems concieveable that one of them might use the same bolt pattern as ours....

The new cougar and the ford focus are the same bolt pattern but front wheel offset.

Your bolt pattern is 4 x 4.25"

The newer FWD Cougar wheels will fit your Fox, but they will look VERY awkward.
Reference a '79-'93 Mustang for custom wheels.

I don't know if they will without mods - I do know Tempaz wheels will not fit (I tried to steal the alloys off my girlfriend's Topaz way back when I had my green '85 T-Bird). The lug pattern is the same but the hole in the center isn't big enough to fit over the fox hub. Of course Contour/Cougar wheels may have a bigger hub hole...

Also, the metric equivalent to 4-on-4.25" is 4-on-108mm (import wheels are usually metric)

I thought about that, Sam. However, do you remember about three years ago when there was a Thunderbird on eBay and it had '99 Cougar wheels on it? I thought I could remember reading that they would fit with no issues... but I could be mistaken.
